Wedding vows in English

Minster to groom:
Do you (groom’s name) take (bride’s name) to be your wife
–to live together after God’s ordinance – in the holy estate
of matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her,
in sickness and in health, for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse,
in sadness and in joy, to cherish and continually bestow upon her
your heart’s deepest devotion, forsaking all others, keep yourself
only unto her as long as you both shall live?
Groom:
I will.
Minster to bride:
Do you (bride’s name) take (groom’s name) to be your husband
–to live together after God’s ordinance–in the holy estate of matrimony?
Will you love him, comfort him, honor and keep him, in sickness
and in health, for richer, for poorer, for better, for worse, in sadness
and in joy, to cherish and continually bestow upon him your
heart’s deepest devotion, forsaking all others, keep yourself only

Bride:
I will.

Are wedding vows in English valid anymore

One of the funniest wedding vows I have heard use when people say they will love and honor each other as long as the love shall last.  What I have to say about that is, romantic love brings people together that never should be brought together.  Longer is all or nothing.  You either promise your life to someone, or just don’t get married.  You can call it something else but it is not marriage.  Just be honest to everybody and say you have a ceremony with wedding bells but it’s just a party and the temporary thing until the next lover comes along.

True love does exist for those who believe.
