Curry is great for the health. It has anti-oxidants than can help prevent an array of diseases. Turmeric, the main ingredient is anti-inflammatory and has health benefits connected with the heart health. I would rank it up there with Garlic. I add garlic to my curry. Here is a way to combine curry and lamb. Lamb has L-carnitine. So Lamb or Mutton curry is not only tasty but healthy.
If you want to soak the lamb in wine a bit before this is optional, however I usually do not, but it does give it a nice taste.
Simple recipe for Lamb curry
- Cut pieces of lamb and put it in a black iron skillet or if you must one of those new metals deep pans.
- Add one cup of water.
- Chop in one large yellow onion.
- Add one teaspoon of peppercorns
- One red or yellow or orange pepper. I use any color but green here.
- Let this simmer.
- Add flour to create thickness.
- I also add bacon diced into little pieces to add fat and taste as lamb and bacon go well together, but you could add olive oil at this point.
- Chop up fresh parsley. Use up your powered parsley somewhere else. (Only work with fresh parsley in your kitchen unless you use herbs of province in spaghetti for example).
- Add a dash of salt according to your tolerance.
- Add one and a half teaspoons of curry.
This curry lamb can be served with rice.
