My name is Mark Biernat. I am an American from, Boston, however, have lived in Krakow, Poland for the last five year. My grandparents where Ukrainian and Polish, from Ternopil and Lublin.
My wife Katarzyna is from Krakow.
My wife is one tea spoon. I am add a little more. So we have different styles of cooking the same recipes.

It could be a recipe that is Polish, Ukrainian or Russian or any recipe you think is good. As there is a fine line between Eastern Europe, centeral Europe and Jewish recipes.
I basically moved to Poland for the cooking. Not really but it did not hurt.

I was searching the internet for a sourdough rye bread recipe and found a polish recipe that seems to be just like the bread I grew up with ….in Bavaria

So I got curious and searched more Polish recipes and found more food I remember eating when I grew up …. in Bavaria
I guess Polish recipes are pretty close to Bavarian recipes…and I agree what you said about wild berries….and wild mushrooms!! I miss them a lot here in the States…where everything is grown commercially and therefore lacking in flavor big time

It is funny you say that, because I have always though German cooking and Polish cooking were very similar.
