Skinny girls – how to be thin and beautiful
Skinny girls are not born they are made. Who is this post for? This post is for girls who want to be thin and beautiful but do not know how. I received a lot of comments on my skinny girls posts. That post was more for guys telling them why to date slender girls. Well this post is to give ideas to women how to be thin.

Skinny girl
This post is how be a skinny girl and my thesis is thin and beautiful is all in the mind. Being a thin girl is all about your mental attitude. If you want to be thin and beautiful you can be. Here is how.
Why I am not a skinny girl
Why do I know about skinny girls and why I am not one? Because I am a guy. I am writing this from a man’s point of view. I hope to give you insights that pop culture and women’s magazines do not. Therefore be of real value, not just recycled information of little value as it is too watered down. I have o taste for such articles. Pun intended.

fat and thin
Here is my story, I have been a tall thin, lanky guy a good part of my life. Most of my life I did not like this as I thought women prefer meat guys. Therefore, being thin was a curse or so I thought. I did not like the way I looked. I even once become a gym rat and was super pumped at over 220 lbs or 100 kgs plus. But I said what is the point, I will love myself not matter what I look like. That is the point of this post. That is, let go of the fight and start to enjoy my life and be in shape at the same time .
I have been in shape and out of shape, and it feels better to be in shape. Why not look good? Why not enjoy your life?
I am very athletic. I tried every vitamin you could imagine, read every book on cooking as I was a cook for many years. I used to work in a bookstore and read every book there was on fitness on many a late Saturday nights when I had to close the store. So I could talk all your want from a technical well informed perspective about how to be a thin girl. But that is not the secret to how to be a thin girl.
Therefore, I want to talk to you in a simply way about being slender from a guys perspective of skinny women. Being thin and beautiful is very easy. No need to read too much on it or think about it. The less you think about it the better. Just read my post on how to be a skinny girl.
After all is said and done, ‘the truth reveal itself after the complex has been exhausted’. Here is the simple truth of being a skinny girl.

Slim girls think themselves beautiful
Mentality of skinny girls
The first thing and most important thing is to realize that you are already beautiful and thin, no matter what you look like. I am a guy, I know what I am talking about in this regard. I have never seen a woman who was not beautiful. Every girl has her own beauty. No matter what you look like, tell yourself you are beautiful and do not need to change. This is right from a guy, not from one of your girlfriends trying to make you feel better. I am a guy and I have guy friends who mostly agree on me with this point.
Women are way too critical of their looks. I have seen girls with no make up and do nothing with their hair and do nothing with their body and you know what? If you look close enough, you will see how beautiful they are. It is instinct. Over done women are a modern phenomenon. Women living in the wild in the forest five thousand years ago where very attractive with no clothes or cosmetics etc. Perhaps these ancient girls were so sensual a modern metro man would not know how to handle this primitive rustic beauty.

Simple skinny girl
There will always be a guy that will fall in love with you no matter what you look like, why? Because every girl is a beautiful princess. Why would I lie? Who ever told you, you are not beautiful? I mean this from all my heart.
Second thing you have to do is stop thinking about losing weight and diet. If someone tells you ‘do not think of a pink elephant’, the first thing that comes to your mind is a pink elephant. If someone tells you can not have some type of food you will want it. Therefore I do not believe in diets. Diets do not work. What has to change is the way you perceive yourself.
Here comes the hard part. Be honest with yourself. What in your heart of hearts do you really want to look like? Try to imagine yourself as you would really like to be. Be honest, remove all the clutter and mixed messages from your brain. Remove expectations of other people and just try to create a mental picture of yourself as you really would like. If you would like to look like a model, see yourself this way. If you want to look like a Romanesque baroque angel, see yourself as this. I recommend visualization and running through scripts in your mind. See yourself in various places doing things as you want to be. Do this as you fall asleep for example a couple nights a week when you want to. If you really want to be a thin girl, than see yourself as a slender, lithe girl in various situations.

Slim ladies are beautiful
Visualization was popular a few years back and now it is a little out of vogue because self help books over did it. However, it is effective.
An example of visualization – think yourself thin
There was a guy who was a prisoner for three years. He had no choice to but to eat less as they feed him little. So he visualized everyday that the small amount he ate was a huge meal. He did this in so much detail that be was actually full on basically bread and water.
My point is the mind does not know the difference between real and imaginary. If you eat an apple and tell yourself you are full you will start to believe it. The good news is to be a slim female you do not have to do this, nor do I recommend it.
I recommend visualization for simply seeing in your minds eye the image you want to look like. This is a much easier way. Your body will start to respond on a subconscious 3D holographic level and in some way start to conform to your image that you see in your imagination.
Body of skinny girls
This is the skinny girl diet
What is the most effective for losing weight? 1. diet 2. exercises or 3. diet and exercise. Actually just exercises. Diets do not work. Really this was studied. So forget about food. Therefore, do not get to complicated about your diet Every body is different, however, there are some universal rules that can be applied.
If you eat less you will lose weight.
Story about Danish Island and very thin people
There was an Island cut off during the second war. This was a small Danish community. They survived on potatoes seaweed and herring. At the end of the war they were examined for their health. They are in beautiful physical condition. Living a simply diet reversed plaque build up in their arteries they lived long happy lives.
The biggest easiest way to tell how long you will live is your hip to waist ratio. Hip to waist is not only very attractive when your waist is thinner than your hips but it will tell you basically how long you will live. People who eat less live longer. As long as you do not become anorexic or anything extreme you will live longer and be happier.
My point is you do not have to get to complicated about diet. Eat natural.
You know what to eat. All the vegetables you want in a rainbow of colors, also fruit until you can not eat any more. Then you need protein. I like fish but many people are vegetarians or meat eaters, whatever, as long as you eat a natural balanced diet. You do not have to get too technical into things like the glycemic index or anything, as if you have a mixed diet this will smooth it all out. Forget food combining or anything fancy. Eat normal food that is not processed. I like international cuisine. See if you can eat a different dish every night if you like.
This old Doctor I once knew from the bookstore once told me all you need is one good meal a day. I guess have light meals to supplement but I think he was right. I basically eat one meal.
Now here is my disclaimer. I am not a doctor and do not recommend anything to anyone. Anything on skinny girls is just my personal observations.
Vitamins
I take a very good multiple vitamins I get at the vitamin shoppe.
Exercises how to be a thin girl
I simply walk. I do not have a car as I live in the old town of a European city and walk everywhere. You think this is too hard? The biggest correlation between obesity and anything else is how much time you spend in your car. Really, more than diet or exercises or genetics what will determine your if you will be a slender lady is if you walk instead of use a car.
I do not work out go to the gym or anything else, I guess gyms are boring for me. I just walk. That is it.
If you are into working out, the best looking girls do yoga. They are the ones that are the most balanced and beautiful.
Summary of the skinny girls strategy
- Know you are already a beautiful women.
- Visualizes yourself as you want to be.
- Do not worry about diet. Just eat a natural diet. The less you think about food the better.
- One good meal a day from an international cook book and maybe light meals or snack. Take the best multi-vitamin you can find. I pay about 50 dollars a month for one.
- Walk everywhere and always. Or get into yoga class.
- Enjoy your life and focus on your life not your body.
- If this does not work move to Europe and enjoy your life, it will come off naturally as you will be around women who live a good lifestyle (not the UK).

Be postive, kind loving, humble towards others and you will forget about trying to be a skinny girl and you will become a beautiful slim girl.
There is a huge industry formed around weight loss and fitness for women to become skinny. Forget it, change your mind and your life will change. The weight will come off if you change your mind. Food is not that important.
Read literature and travel around the world and stop thinking about body image, or only in a positive way. Then it will happen. be humble and peaceful and positive toward others and enjoy your life and the weight will come off.
After all when you die and get up to the pearly gates St. Peter will ask you how was the party? If you spend your life being unhappy with yourself thinking about food, you will say, what party? My point is enjoy your life and take your mind off your self and get over yourself, and you will take it off. Pun intended again, but it is true. Live with your mind focused on ideals and high things and enjoying the best things in life, rather than obsessing about yourself.
I want to create a post on how to be a thin girl or to look like skinny girls that is of value, so I need your feedback. Tell me what you think and how I should revise this post and I will consider it.

I greatly appreciated your page/site. Thank you. Reminded me of what I already know internally. Kind of funny that I’m not even that unhappy w/ my body, just choosing to be discontent. Well, not anymore. I’m going to embrace my beauty now:)
I am a guy and believe me I have been around the world and the block in the metaphorical sense. Sometimes on this blog I am a little rough around the edges. Pay no attention to those comments of mine.
The truth and main thing is I have never seen a girl that was not beautiful. You have to start from there.
I like your text.It is..unusual,and kind of refreshing, and definitely provokes thinking.:) I certainly agree with what you say-about being positive, not critic, towards yourself. It is quite logical that nothing good can ever come out out of being negative and dissatisfied.I am from Serbia, and the “thin-fashion” has certainly rooted here too, along with the entire weight loss industry that accompanies it.It’s annoying, but I hope people will become more conscious in some future times.
What a refreshing read. I agree 100%. I used to be naturally very petite and thin, everywhere I went people used to comment on how amazing my body looked, yet I never spent a minute in a gym and ate what I wanted when I wanted, but I felt beautiful, I thought i was so beautiful, and then i got older and became more critical of myself, which in turn made me more insecure, I became obsessed with my weight, spent hours a day, everyday, at the gym, I ate weird things at odd times. I tried to perfect my diet, food was on my mind 24/7, along with weight loss. I need to stop telling myself I’m fat and worthless every time I think negatively of myself I’m only harming myself because the worse i feel, the more pounds I put on. I’m still thin, but I’m not skinny enough that it’s noticeable, but thanks to you, I’m going to embrace my curves and love myself again and get back to who i used to be.
The main thing is do not worry too much, because who are you in competition with. Nobody. Its all about you and how you feel. Try not to push yourself too much, rather just live a balanced normal live. If you do not think about food and weight too much, you might find over a long period of time your body will adjust to its natural level. I used to hit the gym a lot, but I find it a lot more fun just to walk everywhere. All that time I was pumping iron I would have learned a language or something. So stop worrying too much about your weight and focus on other things more life giving.
This doesn’t work for me, I still want to be slimmer on my bottom half. I’m really out of proportion.
I’ve been like this for almost 8 years, and I’ve been unhappy about myself for that long too. I want to do something about it before it’s too late.
It is never too late. I do not know how old you are but I have seen people of all ages get in shape. Really. I know nothing about your lifestyle or habits. How many hours a day do you walk?
Weight on your bottom half is not as bad as your stomach of course.
I had a real problem with my health, I had some bleeding in my brain. I thought I would never heal. It took years. But I said this is what God gives me, than this is what God gives me and I accepted it. I think a huge part of change is 1) awareness 2) acceptance.
Then the motivation for change does not come from perfecting what you already are, that is perfect, but rather just a desire to try a new way in life. But it should not be coming from seeing yourself as not perfect. Simply at this point in your life the lifestyle that got you in that condition is no longer needed, if that is what you want to do more for your own fun.
Girls, because I think skinny girls are beautiful I am going to explain how to get thin VERY fast, so there are more you around! Ha! My friend gemma has eating disorders because she wants to be thin and is always starving herself and then eating loads when she goes nuts. If any of you are suffering with this behaviour then listen up. I am an expert on fatloss and have made myself ultra skinny in around 6-8 weeks for the last 3 summers. There are several ways to do it but heres the best.
Diet and Excercie Plan.
Day 1 Eat 3 Very small meals of starchy carbs (quinoa, brown rice, oats, have like 2-3 spoonfulls dry weight). Afternoon or evening excercise on this day do a session of hard aerobics or light weghts. Girls cannot get big muscles from this. You have no testosterone so it is impossible. It will raise your metabolism for 72 hours burning calories, . This keeps metabolism hire as muscle burns energy, prevent your muscles wasting away and ensures your body burns fat for energy and not muscle (muscle is a more useable fuel and would be used over fat – leaving fat till last) as it needs to keep and repair the muscle so it can adapt to weight training stresses. Very important.
Day 2. Glass of water and a long walk first thing. 3-5 very small meals of green vegetables, at each meal have a fish oil capsule Have a small protein source with 1 or 2 meals. Tnu or turkey is very lean adnd nhas not fat. This ensures your muscles repair. Long walk at night. The small frequesnt meals keep metabolism elevated and ensure food is used for energy and never stored as fat. The fish oil is ESSENTIAL as it sets your blood lipid profile. Simply the fat in fish oil is a magic type of fat that actuallty chips out and releases stored fat in your body to be used for energy and removed altogether. It is a fat that removes fat. You loose weight very quickly using this. (Feel free to have 1 capsule with m,eals on day 1 if you like. The long walks are low impact excercise. If you run a mile or walk a mile you burn the same calories. Yet running hurts your muscles and makes them sore, and is bad for joints. Walking briskly makes your heat beat in the ‘fat burning zone’ where fat is best called up for energy use.
Day 3. Strong black cofffee or water and long walk, first thing and last thing. Do not eat until dinner time 6-8pm. Have a medium sized health balanced meal – 2 spoons of carbs, fish or tunrkey, green vegetables, fish oils. You will not have eaten from 6pm the day night before – and had a 24hr fast. Massively reducing your calories and detoxing your sytem. Ensuring rapid weight loss – but not affecting your body in an unhealthy or stressful way. (starving over 26 hours, excercising excessively, and getting ill all increase creation of insulin. Thi is a storrrage hormone and encourages you to store sugar as fat – so purging while stressed and starved will put on weight. Not when you follow this plan though!
Day 4 – Repeat Day 1
Day 5 – Repeat day 2
Day 6- Repeat Day 3
Day 7- You choose – Eaither do day 2 again – or eat what you like, in a sensible fashion. Remember to take a long walk.
Other stuff. Except for day 1 – no sugar, no squash, no juice. Pepsi max or using artificial sweeteners in cofe is fine. Absolutely no milk. Milk breaks dow into sugar. Day 2 and day 3 untill dinner are designed to massively reduce blood glucos (sugar) levels and ramp up your fat loss. Day 1 you need blood sugar to perform the excercise, and you are having just enough to fuel the excercise, and recover afterwards. On day 3 you must have some carbs in the final meal to ensure you recover and have energy. The ‘carb’ cycling you do on this diet ensures you body never thinks it is starving, yet at the same time tricks it into giving up its fat stores for energy.
Drink water and coffee alot on this plan. You could take a fat burner product 1st thing and at lunch if you like.
Thats it Skinny in under 8 weeks, and not skinny flabby and and pale looking ill. Skinny and looking HOT!
Skinny girls – How to be a thin girl
I really loved this! I always healthy no matter what but yes i have actually found that i lose weight and look prettier when im just being happy and accepting myself and not thinking about what i eat, exercising for hours a day, measuring my stomach and grabbing my fat and sucking in etc whilst vainly critisizing myself in the mirror…which is what i do most of the time and what ive been doing lately. Although when i do stop doing all that and after a while realise im happier and losing weight naturally and just looking more beautiful i think ‘hey if i diet and exercise now then ill lose even more weight!’ Which makes me spiral back into my old depressive habbits. I hope that all makes sense :/ So thankyou for this article as its helped me alot and i dont think ill ever go back into my old ways again. The thing is im actually a nice looking and im not over weight at all & i only seem to fluctuate between 3kgs. I just have afew self esteem issues which distort the way i see myself in the mirror. So i guess this article has helped me by reminding me that if your beautiful on the inside, it will shine through to the outside . And i am beautiful on the inside
Oh and also im a vegetarian, do you know where i can get protein from? just fish or is there other foods?
I do not know anyone who does not have self esteem issues, including movie stars and yes even me. So welcome to the earth.
Vegetarian protein, there are many sources. If you are an ethical vegetarian than many the most important thing is do not eat mammals. Well eating chicken and fish is not a strict vegetarian diet these are not mammals. But if you want to eat only fish for protein this is perhaps the best. If you do not eat fish eggs have the highest PER or protein efficiency ratio, almost 100 percent.
The main thing is do not do anything extreme. Do not focus on food and try to find the perfect diet. Not important. More important that you just enjoy your life and not take it so seriously. Once you are married and have kids and chasing them around the house I think all the things you worry about now, you will not even remember. I write a lot of this blog for fun and for guys.
But one another level I sincerely want people to find the love of their life.
I think one of the best ways of doing this is not being afraid to be who you are. I know this sounds cliche, but look at me. My whole life I wanted to learn Polish and Ukrainian the language of my family and when I at last left my job and the USA to learn this in Eastern Europe, I met my wife. Never would have happened if I worried about things that were not important and what other people think.
If you are too serious about everything, including yourself, then when you get to heaven St. Peter will ask, ‘how was the party?’ and you will say, what party?
Okay thanks. I actually dont eat fish much but i eat eggs alot. yeh i know everyone has self esteem issues. Some peoples are deffinaly worse than others though. Ive found that lately ive been overcoming mine by helping other people with their own demons. Makes you feel good about yourself when you make someone else happy
And when St. Peter asks “How was the party?” i will say “It was awesome!”
Hello, I’m a 16 year old european girl. I think it’s a very good post, but it’s still confusing. I don’t understand some things. Like, what do you mean about imagine yourself how you want your body to be? For example, if I imagine myself having long skinny legs, will I then get long skinny legs? It sounds very unrealistic… How can that happen? And you also write that ”if you eat less, you will loose weight”. But then you write ”You know what to eat. All the vegetables you want in a rainbow of colors, also fruit until you can not eat any more.” Why do you write you should eat fruit untill you can not eat any more, and then at the same time write that if you eat less you will loose weight? That doesn’t sound good together. Look, I really want to loose weight, but I do love my body. I’ve been chubby since I was born, I have big bones and I really want to loose some weight. Also because I like this guy who think it’s hot when a girl is skinny, he even think it’s hot when they are as skinny as anorexia girls. I won’t be as skinny as an anorexia girl though, I don’t think that looks good. I’m about 177cm and weigh about 65-70 kg, am I fat? I know you can’t tell if a person is fat by it’s weight, cos muscles weigh 4 times more than fat, but anyway. And, don’t you think it looks good when a girl have curves? I think girls with no curves looks like men. No breasts, no ass. How skinny do you want a girl to be? I personally think it looks good when she haves curves, and are soft touch, and not just a skeleton. Aren’t girls alloud to have their natural curves and eat candy once in a while? Why should they get obseessed with how the extremely thin models look like? I personally think you look best when you love your body, but I just want to loose some weight. Is it really true you can get skinny if you just imagine it? I mean, I dont want to get skinny in my head only, but also want other people to think im skinny. I mean, I want to loose weight physical, not just mental. I go to fitness, and are starting to do yoga soon. Please explain me what you mean, and answer my questions! Please, I really need your help. I know I wrote alot, but try to get ALL my questions I wrote, just look after the questionmarks
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH! (btw, sorry if my English is bad).

Nothing extreme is attractive. All things in moderation. Being a total stick is as unattractive as being too big. At 16 you are at a time when you are defining your self image. I would say until you are 26 try just to be moderate and stay fit.
You do not see to many if any fat chess players. Look at all the top women chess players they are skinny. Why? Maybe they focus on other things in their life than body image. So yes visualization helps but if you are 16 I think focus more on higher things and your weight might come off naturally.
Focus on learning languages, art literature and travel more than body image.
However, if you do a sport try yoga as you mentioned. Yes see yourself as you want to be as long as it is not extreme. Be patient, like 2 or 3 years or 5 years or 7 years. Life is a marathon not a sprint. I think all women have an attractiveness about themselves.
If some guy does not like you, it is because he is not the one for you (not your weight), it is his loss if he is not poet enough to see your beauty. At some point in your life, you might meet him again and you will be like, wow that guy, no way, what did I ever see in him.
”You do not see to many if any fat chess players. Look at all the top women chess players they are skinny. Why? Maybe they focus on other things in their life than body image. So yes visualization helps but if you are 16 I think focus more on higher things and your weight might come off naturally.” Visualization means that you think about how you want to look, dont it? Then howcome is the woman chessplayers skinny, they only think about chess, and not how they want to look like? Dont you mean that, if you just dont worry and dont stress, you automaticly eat less and are more active, and then you loose weight? Cos to think urself skinny, thats just impossible. That would be like magic.
Do a search on Alexandra Kosteniuk. She is the woman’s world champion at chess. Do an image search on her or any of her friends or competition. They are pretty much all universally hot and skinny. Why? I do not know. Maybe because thinking hard for hours a day burns a lot of calories (really) or simply the fact they focus higher things and not food. If you are thinking about food all day it will not do anything for you in terms of losing weight. If you are thinking about other things you might find yourself skinny in a few years without trying. I have to look into why so many of the chess players are skinny.
Hi admin. I enjoyed your post. I admire your courage because it’s not easy to tell the simple common sense truth, when all the “experts” out there are saying it takes impossible measures to actually be skinny, healthy and beautiful. People will be upset and lash at you like what you experience from some comments on your site. Confused girl, I’m just reading your posts as they are, and it seems that you are not really confused. Rather, you just want to tackle the admin’s points indirectly in hopes to make him realize that his points don’t make sense at all. Just curious, are you from USA, UK (or the like, say Canada?). The stereotype is that the women there are argumentative and bitter. And will not want to be open to new ideas, especially when it comes to body image. They always think it’s literally impossible to be skinny naturally or beautiful naturally. They insist that skinny can be achieved if you workout and go through specific diets ONLY(read Matt’s post, for example, though maybe Matt is not a girl but it reflects American’s (and the like)mentality). And thus, most girls just give up to be skinny and say it is unhealthy to be skinny because of the workout and strict diets rules and when good and valid points are made about how to be naturally skinny, they will not have any of it. And the attitude shows…. either by direct bitterness and snide comments or by acting as if they are interested to learn your theory when in truth they are just trying to be argumentative and intend to make you look like you don’t know what you are talking about (because they always KNOW better. They are always RIGHT).
Same attitude can be seen when valid points are made about how you can be beautiful just by taking care of yourself through living and eating sensibly. These girls won’t have any of it because they insist that to have a beautiful face, you will need to have makeup on, foundation, matching eyeshadows etc. And you will need botox or lipos and liftings etc. And that models are unhealthy and bitter anyway. They insist on the model thing when people like the author has again and again stated that he is not talking about being a (bitter/ unhealthy/ anoroxic/ bullimia/ crash dieting, etc) models. They just don’t want to try to take responsibility for themselves and have no control when it comes to eating (like in the other post, what the admin has said). And when control is mentioned, they would again bring up how they tried to “control” eating by following a certain diet example by no carbs, eating sushis only and things like that and that it didn’t work.
The author has made some very very simple points and seriously, it’s not just about the mind but also COMMON SENSE. It is not rocket science that everybody has their own unique beauty which is God-given and that all you need to do is to maintain it and nourish it the right and gentle way. The author has said that you just need to eat real food. Let me add to that; you just need to eat FRESH real food. You can eat till you are full (not too full though, but not so little that you still feel hungry). There is no need to starve or crash diet. No need. Cook your own food and eat. Make sure the food you cook is fresh and real, not from the can and packs and all that. Also, when you eat real fresh food, you will notice you get full and satisfied faster. This too will help you to eat less and thus aids in weight loss. Fresh and real food has more fibres and nutritions that make you feel full faster. Key word here is fresh. Eat plenty of veges and fruits. Yes, THOSE you can eat plenty as they are the secret to being skinny and having great skin and beautiful, glowing face. And the reason why you can eat them plenty is because they won’t fatten you up like rice or meat etc do. So basically eat fresh real food and plenty of veges, and fruits.
Yes, you can have candy. Nothing wrong with that. I do enjoy ice cream and candy and surprise, surprise! I do eat fastfood too. But I am thin. It’s because I don’t deny myself of those foods (crash dieting). As the author said, denying food and being fixated on terms like carbs and indexes and all that would only backfire. It would make you crave those foods more. So enjoy your candy and all that but don’t make it your lifestyle. Make it a once in a while treat. But after eating fresh for a long time, you will do feel it repulsive to eat fastfood and candy. You will feel this naturally. You still can eat fastfood-like food though that are of a healthier version. Example, you can make your own burger using fresh meat grind, fresh lettuce (as opposed to wiltering, yellowy lettuce in fastfood burgers), fresh tomato slices, fresh peppers and wholegrain bread. Or you can cut your own potatoes and fry your fries using fresh oil instead of oil that is reused and reheated the whole year. As for candy and sweet stuffs, that too you can do your own. You can make your own chocolate cake and so be more selective with what goes into it. You can make chocolate carrot cake, for example. That’s healthy, and if you make it right, the chocolate will overshadow the carrot taste. Be creative with your food. The key here is to eat fresh food and that’s it. It’s really THAT simple. No need to be fixed about not taking any fat at. No need to be scared of butter and only take margarine with omega this omega that, scared of real eggs and take only small modified and omega injected eggs, no need to be scared of meat and convert to vegetarian, no need to shun your western food love and turn to sushis. Thing is, even Japanese have more than just sushis in their culinary. They do eat meat, chicken, etc as well too. They love candy and sweets and ice creams and all that too. It’s just that they place great importance in food being fresh. And they eat lots of naturally good, nutritious food like tofu, seaweed, etc and incorporate green tea in their eating habits which is famous as a natural detoxifier.
Keep it simple.
Skinny girls – How to be a thin girl
Delila, I would have to agree. Keep it simple. When I went to the USA a few weeks ago on vacation, I could not believe all the diet foods and food replacements and alternative foods people were buying. There is not need for it. In Europe, I eat real eggs and real butter. I am a normal weight and my wife is a skinny girl. We do not make any special effort to be thin, rather we simple eat normal natural foods. One of my theories is people eat more because they are eating less quality and not as fresh food or nutritious. Further, in the USA you do not realizes it but even the most innocent food like Stonyfield farms yogurt has sugar in it. In Europe, I would never find yogurt like that unless I searched, it is the rustic natural taste which I am accustom to.
I pretty much eat everything, but rarely buy it from a shiny package, and certainly not from the diet food section.
Thanks so much! This just reminded me on how dumb I was for wanting to lose weight. This is truly the nicest thing a guy has ever said. Again thanks.
HI, I really find your insights interesting. I’m currently trying to lose some weight – about 10 pounds. I think about food constantly, and I really believe it makes me hungrier. Your thoughts are correct but people who are successfull at losing weight also manage to do so with alot of motivation. I find when I don’t think about food, I tend to make alot of bad food choices and the next thing I know I’ve gained some weight. So if everything is in moderation like you said, thinking about food should be in moderation as well. And thinking about how you would like to look should be in moderation too. You are correct about focus, because everyone’s focus should be on trying to be happy, and it’s hard to be happy when so many people focus on the negative about themselves.
Yes, focus on the positive. In the end, of course it really does not matter. However, consider this.
I seen here girls in Eastern Europe really do not focus on food like girls in the USA. Maybe it is the advertising in the US on TV and everywhere. But here the typical girl is pretty slender and sits on a park bench reading some old book from the library for their free time. Or sits in the park with their friends. At home they make a small thing of fresh homemade soup.
When I was back home in the States I just did not see this. I saw girls going shopping and going out to eat, buying and consuming. I am American but just realizes that the society that we are from is hyper consumptive in everything. The best thing you can do is unplug from the patterns.
I do not know how. I recommend people travel and learn languages, but not focus on food. That is the way you will be healthy, wealthy and wise.
I so agree with visualization. My wife and I have been practicing this for years. She for actually longer than I only because I knew nothing of this when we met. We are very conscious of our diet which is a variation on the CRON diet (calorie restriction optimal nutrition) and we do execise to remain lean and strong. I actually was not as healthy as she when we met, and she introduced me to our current diet and exercise regimin (resistance training plus various aerobics). We each are much healthier for this. We each exercise about two hours per day for six days a week and consume nutritious lower calorie foods and drinks. We do live in the USA and she is neither spoiled or selfish. She has always been exceptionally skinny (168cm weighing 40-41kg) But terribly healthy too. After being on her diet I lost lost 9kg from 80kg to 71kg at 188cm and found I felt healthier than I ever had in my life. She consumes on a daily basis between 1400 and 1800 cals and is more lean and skinny than any woman I have known. I had always been attracted to skinny women but upon first seeing her I felt I had to know her. Not only was she physically attractive but the more time we spent together I knew she was the only one I wanted to spend my life with. I was only so lucky in that she felt the same way about me.
I was interested in your piece about Russian women wearing tight jeans. My wife also loves wearing them and is exceptionally attractive. Even though it is rather expensive because of her axtreme thinness to have them fit she has to have custom jeans made or buy the smallest sizes she can find and have them remade. What I find so attractive about her (besides looking terribly sexy in jeans)is that she loves her body, and I am so proud of her for taking the effort she has made for years to remain so terribly skinny and healthy.
Basically if you eat right, light and in moderation, you will be healthier, live longer and feel better than your counter parts who can not control yourself. I think visualization is a very power thing. Thank you for the comments.
How funny! I was shooting through websites for health and fitness tips for my friend – because she doesn’t believe my routine is as real as it is – and I found your website!
Not only that, the topics you brought up about yoga – I actually do pilates, almost the same – and eating a natural food diet, with smaller portions IS the way to be a thin girl! This is exactly what I do. Every day. I felt as if I was reading about myself.
So thank you!
(Plus, I agree with walking everywhere. Biking is another fun way for transportation.)
Diane, I am really into fitness. Walking is my base but yoga and pilates are really good when I have time/money. Also basically now I have been eating natural foods for years now, I have lost my taste for junk food (mostly). Basically I feel pretty good most of the time and my sedentary the opposite. I am lucky my wife is also pretty active, and even after a child is pretty thin.
Diane and Adm, I agree with you both. I walk whenever I can and use my bike if the weather is good to commute to work which varies form day to day between 6 and as much as 15 miles. Natural food are a real plus for continued health when eaten in moderation. I have never enjoyed junk food and grew up with parents who felt the same way. My husband, Rocky, who posted earlier and I follow a strict but varied diet which limits our calories to much less than what is recommended. He, as men will do sometimes, misrepresented my daily calories. When we are hiking or climbing all day I do have up to 1800 calories. But most days I am limit myself to 1200-1400 have and on more sedentary days about 1000 calories. With all our exercising and other activities this makes staying very skinny quite possible and even easy at 42. During the past few months I have actually lost a little weight to 39kg. I will gain a little to make up for this but it will take a little time. At my age so may women are overweight I but have never thought it had to be that way. And not meaning to brag, but I don’t believe there and many women my age who can say they have a waist 46/47cm waist. I only want to encourage other women to stay as thin as possible throughout their live. It is healthier and we look younger and stay stronger if we do.
Basically when your thin and active you feel better and better about yourself. I like whole foods. I like walking and biking etc. We are on the Baltic for a week at the beach and I love being able to run around and chase my child with ease on the beach. I would not want to be looking like a whale. Not even for other people, but it feels good to be thin. I can focus on other things in my life and still eat fantastic food with just small modifications in my lifestyle.
You said what I truly believe “when your thin and active you feel better and better about yourself.” Never having experience the opposite I can’t actually relate to being overweight and unhealthy. However other women I know who are heavier don’t seem to fully enjoy their lives. Even at my age I can at least keep up with and generally have more energy and strength women twenty years younger. And by the way I mistyped my age in my post and didn’t notice until now. I am 46 not 42. The other advantage to remaining thin and fit is we also are able to continue to have a very active and intimate sex life. In the US being overweight and obese is so common among as much as 60% of the population, and I simply don’t understand how women and men can allow themselves and their children to fall into this horribly unhealthy state. It simply makes no sense to treat our bodies so badly. Those who treat themselves this way are going to live shorter unhealthy lives with more medical problems. Our bodies will only treat us as well as we treat them. Younger people should realize this before they do irreparable harm to themselves and their children. I’m sorry for having written so much here, but with so much of or population in such a terribly unhealthy state I tend to go on about it to long sometimes.
I hope you and you family enjoy your time at the beach. Maybe sometime when we retire my husband and I can visit the Baltic. But that is in the future and we do enjoy where we are now-the mountains of Colorado
This is wonderful. Really lovely post. Sometimes girls need to be reminded how weight shouldn’t be an issue in their lives.
Coming from a girl with an eating disorder that was the most sensible thing I have ever read in my entire life and just woke something up in me and now I think I will be able to move on.
Jacquelyn I do not know if I have wisdom, but thank you.
I think maybe people get stuck on trying to be skinny, both women and men, because they are some how not enjoying their life to the max. I do not know, I think studying French and living in Europe and having some pain in the neck hot Italian boyfriend is a lot more interesting than living in Anytown, USA and trying to lose weight. I know, since I started doing the things that I really love, I really do not focus on weight for myself and I am in good shape. I moved to Europe, but maybe for another person it would be traveling or languages, or art or whatever. I do know that studying French and living in Europe is a lot more fun than thinking too much about food. I guess my general philosophy is if you can do other things to take your mind off diet etc you will not only make yourself a beautiful person by being so interesting, but the you will be in good shape.
I think Americans (I am American) try to compete with everyone so much, in weight, money everything. And no the whole world is not like that. For your body or anyone else’s body you should not be in competition. I know I use to be the opposite. I was one of the weightlifting guys trying to bulk up always. It was basically the same. I do not even care about that now. I am married have a family live in Europe, learn, languages travel the world. What do I care about my weight. And you know what? I think I am in better shape than ever. So if women want to know how to be a skinny girl or go on the skinny girl diet, my advice, study languages travel the world live and exciting life and it will come off naturally and you will not even know it.
Sorry for rambling a bit but this is an issue which I know about from personal experience.
Very much true, thank you for the positive thinking. I also believe it is ones thinking which make one beautiful as your inner self is reflected to the world.
This post was amazing to read. You really inspired me with your mentality. I studied abroad in Europe last yr and never went to the gym and had such an active social life plus walked everywhere and i managed to be a nice weight even eating nutella crepes! I am back in the states and put on 13 pounds and I’m religiously going go the gym trying to get back to my old weight…it’s hard since you can’t walk anywhere in my town. I really miss life abroad! I just graduated college in marketing. My question to you is how did you make the move to Europe? Where did you find a job!!? You are basically living my dream
It is interesting you say that about gaining when back to the USA. I know some European friends that are moderate in eating and when they moved to the USA they gained weight. Maybe, it is the food quality, not just the eating habits, or the amount of walking. Also their skin in the USA got worst they got adult acne.
I had a great job in the USA. I really had a nice career going. I went to take a few language course and meet the girl who was to be my wife. She did not want to talk to me so it took me about nine months to convince her. I had no choice to stay.
I started to teach English. As a native speaker you can teach English no problem without any background.
I initially got a students visa as I was also studying at a local school.
Then I found a way to stay.
Europe bases citizenship on blood rather than place of birth. My grandparents where from Europe. I worked none stop to prove this and apply for a green card and then a citizenship. Many countries like Ireland or Poland are good about this.
Some of my friends just go over the border ever 3 months for a passport stamp and then live in two countries one EU and one non EU. Other people live with no visa. But if you can find a job, even teaching English they will take care of your visa.
I do not worry about weight. I have more important things to thing about like am I going to take a trip to Paris or Rome this fall, or just do things locally. Really, and this is the way it is in Europe.
I live a great live here and come back to the States from time to time. But here weight, being thin or things that are issues in the USA are not issues in Europe, at least my part of Europe.
Marry me! Maybe you should write about nice guys so more men are kind and sweet

I’m tiny and considerably beautiful but googled skinny girls and read this purely because 10 minutes ago i wanted more than that, but you know what!? I am beautiful and skinny, heck I’m-ing amazing
You’re awesome, thanks.
Thanks Laura, I think society is changing and more guys are learning to be charming and sweet. Charm is getting what you want without having to ask. I think guys should focus on being charming and sincere if they want the princess of their dreams than chasing false things like career and muscles. I am sure your beauty is only exceeded by your charm and grace and I would imagine you have numerous suitors trying to win your hearts affection. Thanks.
This is a great post, it really made me think about how unhappy I am, all i think about is food and how to avoid eating it and how I will never be as good as the pretty skinny girls but if i just live how I want and love myself beauty comes naturally. thank you for this.
Yes the main thing is not to think about being a skinny girl or a diet or food. Just live. Look if someone tells you do not think of a pink elephant it is the first thing you think of, so I know it is hard.
Food is not something you can just quit, like a bad habit. It is something that has to be a subconscious process. No matter how much you obsess about food now, anyone, trust me there will be a time that you will be normal again. The key is focus on other things that you really love, and I am not talking about some boring job or things your parents or friends worry about, but something you really love in your heart. If you want to live in Hawaii do it for example. I moved to the other side of the world.
Oh it is interesting to note Hawaii does have the highest percentage of skinny girls in the USA, I think they have better things to think about.
I enjoy reading your posts, the other one about why guys like skinny girls was a little harsh, and this one is very positive but the thing people need to remember, especially overweight people, is this is what your looking for, I know my mom is always saying “i wish i could spend the day with a nice thin woman to see what she eats and how she lives” well the truth is in this page, and for woman who want to know why most men aren’t attracted to bigger woman, well that’s on the other page. The point I’m trying to make is this is a great site, and you’re a great writer, even if people don’t always agree with you, you will always get info worth using in day to day life even if you don’t like what you read.
Great post, hope to see more like it in the future!
I have to go back and revise my harder posts. I am sorry if it came off that way. I believe if someone judges someone hard, maybe it is because they have an issue with themselves, thank you for reminding me of that.
Hi, I’m 13 years old and I really wanna be thin cos my boy friend is amazing and I look like a tree trunk.i dont really understand how imagining how i wanna look is gonna make me look like it. I’ve tried to diet and even tried being sick all the time but it doesn’t work for me. I would honestly rather I do not know what then look like this.
Paige, I highly recommend you do not try to be thin or worry about this at you age. Please. If you feel bad talk to your Mom or Dad about it but at 13, do not think in terms like this. This post is more about women much older. Your body is still developing. Listen to my advice and talk to someone. Focus on stuff like learning French or reading books or learning about the environment, not body image. Guys are sometimes really stupid and make girls feel bad about themselves. I am sorry but we are. I have written here before, I have never meet or seen a woman that does not have beauty about her in some way. You will find your prince but he has to be the guy who accepts you for who you are, and rescues you, not some guy that is hot. The guys that are hot at your age are often the guys that are not latter in life transform into toads. The guys that are geeks now are the guys that will be looking like Brad Pitt and have hearts of gold in a few years. Why? People like you and me who and others who feel the pain of growing up, learn to mature in different ways then the people who are seen as attractive and get lots of attention. Do not worry about being thin, worrying about being smart or happy and easy going in life and this will attract a lot more attention than thin.
Not too sure what I should make of this article, it was refreshing to read about the point to focus on other stuff in your life rather than food. However, I’m not too sure if its really resolving the whole issue. If you take my person as an example, I have been travelling a lot, have lived in 4 different countries during the last 10 years, I speak 5 different languages and I started to study 2 years ago, still the issue with those kilos has not fallen off…I still consider myself too fat even if I’m a normal shaped woman, so I reckon it’s not all about keeping busy and learning new stuff and then you get skinny. For some people skinny will never happen. Because it’s not what your body looks like, and that’s it. Guess though in a society where only skinny people are advertised as being successful and healthy (and that’s also the case in Europe, in every European country!) there is not a lot of space for people of “normal size”to be happy about themselves. Also, -at least speaking for me- I know that my food and kilo issue is more about not liking me as a whole, so maybe it’s not only about obsessing about how you look but basically how you are and what you don’t like about yourself in terms of behaviour or characterwise..or maybe it’s about control (what most people suffer from when they have anorexia or bulimia, etc) What I want to say is, that, yes, if you’re an average healthy person with a healthy mind, then it might be just the right thing to do stopping being obsessed with the weight issue…but otherwise maybe you should consider the fact that there is maybe other stuff in your life you don’t want to face or maybe you have problems that you don’t know how to cope with otherwise?! If this is the case trying not to obsess about weight is most probably not going to help you, even moving to another country is not going to resolve this issue. It’s more about you realising what’s going on and then go from there.
So, while I’m thankful for a different kind of view rather than the usual diet crap, I still think “..learning french and moving to Europe” is not going to resolve everything for everybody…especially as you also have lots of people here obsessing with food and being thin (I’ve lived in Italy for a while and believe me…it’s hell if you’re weighing over 60kg!).
Nevertheless, your post actually made me think of forgetting about those diet plans I had in mind for tomorrow and just trying to start the day with somewhat happier thoughts…I’ll let you know if that’s doing anything for somebody like me
Skinny girls – How to be a thin girl
It works for me. I really do not think about diet or weight, especially since I moved to Europe many years ago. Too many other things to excite my mind. When you forget about food and diet because you are obsessed with other things and happy with your life, one day you might wake up in the mirror and be thin without knowing it. When every diet book and talk show is tell you about how to have the right attitude with food, I think the right attitude is stop thinking about it and live your life.
If you do not like your job, quit. Yes it is that simple. Whatever you do, make your life the life that you want and so your thoughts shift away from food and body image and towards something more interesting, like finding some hot guy in Paris or whatever your dream is.
I have always struggled with losing weight. I was never a skinny girl and my friends are so petite and small while I have wider shoulders and taller (I’m Asian by the way) so I’ve always felt fat and insecure. I am about 125 pounds and 5 foot 5 but people say I look skinnier than that… Even that didn’t boost my confidence because if someone compliments my skinny waist (something im proud of along with my abs) i always think they are trying to make me feel better. I was overweight before though and I lost about 20 pounds on diet and exercising and eating hardly nothing after lunch reaching my current weight that I mentioned above. I was stressed, obsessed, and thought life was so unfair because I work so hard and I’m not as skinny as I want to be. The areas of my body I’m insecure about like my thighs and legs, I look at them and think how ugly I look. Just before reading this article, I was actually typing up how to be skinny and how to throw up, and I’m just 15! I’m so glad I found this article but I have some questions. The thing is that u have a major sweet tooth and I love cakes, cookies, brownies, etc.
If I just dont obsess over calories, I’m afraid I’ll become super fat but I dont want to be
obsessed anymore so how do I control my sweet tooth or get rid if it completely? I tried
to not eat them but I keep thinking about them and when I eat them I binge so it’s
really dangerous. Please respond and help a poor girl who’s just trying to enjoy her life now
Hi Anne,
My wife was a little chubby back then, but then as you are about 25 and get involved in your career and life, you naturally lose it.
Good News, first know that your whole life will not be an obsession about food. It is part of territory of being young. So do not worry, this focus on weight and body image and food is usually only temporary. Second, with your weight an height you are pretty skinny and do not have to worry about weight for at least another ten years. You are most likely pretty attractive also but do not even know it. Really. Between 15 and 25 a lot of girls have what I call ‘baby fat’. Sorry
This age between 15 and 25 is the worst. So know that even if you do get fat, so what, do not worry it will come off, it did for my wife. Just try to stay in a range more than a specific weight.
The reason you have a sweet tooth is you are a female.
See life is unfair in this regard. Females crave sweets.
It is because of estrogen. If you are a teen your estrogen is spiking now and you have a real sweet tooth.
Nature wants women to get fat so they can have babies even if it is winter and there is not food supply in the forest (when humans were primitive hunter gatherers). So nature gives women this wonderful hormone called estrogen. Oh we men love it on girls, but girl have this at a price, they are always thinking about sweets and have low blood sugar more than men.
Some women I know manage this with yoga. Yoga is pretty cool. Others take vitamins like magnesium, or even chromium. But I think magnesium is a major thing.
So your mind is fighting with your body.
But there is a deeper reason also. Humans are complex and it is never one think. We have many layers, like Onions
.
Why do we have this temporary obsession to be thin and beautiful? We want to be loved and accepted by others and have trouble accepting ourselves and understanding what life is about. It is all about love and acceptance.
The only think that changes people or anything in life is love. If you can not love yourself all the magnesium in the world will not help. Whatever the problem love is the answer. So you have to look at your life and see how you are not honoring your life. What are your interests and hobbies you are not obsessing about? What do you love in your life and how can you refocus your obsession on food to a more life giving obsession?
You know, body image is almost the only thing that matters at a certain time in peoples’s life. Guys too! Look I am a guy and I was at the gym all the time pumping iron and it was kind of an obsession also with me when I was younger. The reason was simple, I want to be be looking good for girls and I did not accept myself. It is one aspect of my life I could control. I wanted to be accepted, especially by girls so I thought if my body looked better this increased my chances. So again this is the whole world at a time in their life.
I knew everything thing there was about the calories and carbohydrates of every food, including the glycemic index etc. I read books on fitness and weight. I was like you, slightly obsessed. Here is the good news, now I do not even think about it. Now, I am in great shape and do not work out or diet. Why? I refocused on the things I love in life, instead of about food, fitness etc. It took time, so be patient. It might take years, but gradually find thinks in your life, that you love. It could be music, or the Bible or languages or whatever.
I tell girls why not study French or Italian. When your 18 you can go to France or Italy to study for a year and have some really hot guy in Paris or Italy as a boyfriend. Try to find some dream or passion to take your mind off cookies, cakes and sweets.
Know you are normal and this weight obsession is going though the heads of many people even if they do not admit it. Famous people even, like Leonardo Dicaprio had this problem, I think. So know it is not just you.
There are strong biological factors here at work. Just be aware of it.
My main thesis is – the issue is not food, it is life. It is not about being skinny or weight, it is about life. It is so hard to accept yourself and not worry about what others think.
My main recommendation to people is find something else besides food that you can obsess about. For, me it was travel, and languages and then girls. For example, if I spend all the time I did worrying about my body image as I did the French language for example, I would be speaking French better today. I moved to Europe meet a beautiful person and fell in love and live in Europe now. But your dreams might be different. Everyone has to basically find their dream and follow it. If you do this, your life will be more interesting and you will worry less about being skinny or fat.
Let me know what you are think?
Skinny girls – How to be a thin girl
Thank you so much to take time to answer my question. It really helped me to realize that I’m not the only one with body image issues and my sweet tooth is women thing! I know it will take me a long time to really stop obsessing over body image and weight, but your comment about music helped a lot (because I love music!). Now I’m going to focus on my true hobbies that I’ve neglected in favor of researching about diet and exercises. I really hope that one day I’ll be one of those skinny, thin girls that are confident and beautiful with healthy mind. Again, thank you so much. I mean it from bottom if my heart. Thank you.
I do not know if I have any wisdom, but that you for your feedback.
Than worrying too much about what I look like or about diet and fitness. I stopped taking myself so serious.
However, I know, even as guy, I went though the same thing.
In my personal experience it took a long time to relax about my life and just live.
I guess a main thing is food and diet and thinking about it gets boring after a while. It is like watching TV all day, it is very boring after a while.
Diet books all say the same. Eat more veggies and less junk food. I use to work in a bookstore and I read them all. So you can save the time and just remember they are all basically the same with new flashy and fancy covers. Sorry but it is partially true. Read them if you want, but they are all similar some talk about carbs and others about fats and others about calories.
Fitness books are all about moving and shaking your body. I do not go to the gym, but I walk with my wife everyday.
We are lucky we live in a European city with a lot to do. We are thinking of a vacation of hiking in the Alps in France or maybe just Provence. In the Spring if I can pass the EU drivers test and maybe get an Italian Fiat, we will go to Italy or Tuscany for a while. Does this not sound more interesting than reading about diet and exercise books?
See your life is a blank canvas and you can paint on it anything you like. Me I prefer to live in Europe, travel around and get my fitness from hiking in the Alps and my diet from Italian tomatoes with risotto.
So at 15 start focusing on things you enjoy like music (I love music also and just got a keyboard and maybe my daughter will play a bit). But the bottom line is remember life is an empty canvas and the question is what do you want to fill your canvas with?
Hi I wanted to say tha I really enjoyed your post. It really is refreshing to hear someone who day that diets don’t work. There are so much hate for carb these days! I just have some question though. When you say to eat light, I assume that you are talking about being satisfied noy overly full. So how exactly do you know when to stop eating because sometimes I feel like I’m satisfied and not full but for all I know, I could be eating much more than what I’m supposed to! Also I feel that most of the time I eat because I’m craving something. How do you yell if you are honestly in need of fuel? And what do you mean by eating natural?
Hi, When you are in your teens and 20s your body has very strong hormonally and physically driven hunger. You crave foods and when you are hungry you get very hungry. This is just nature. Vitamins like magnesium are very helpful. But do not worry the ideal of listening to your body does work, you just might need to teach your body.
To learn to be moderate and eat a reasonable amount is a skill that you learn. I used to be an excercise fanatic so I could eat more. That was not the best strategy as too much time was spend at the gym.
If you can not right not trust your body’s signals because either you have incredible cravings or more likely not in the habit then you have to learn how to eat healthy and eventually it will be a habit and subconcious and not something you think about. I do not think about food too much except in a normal way. I really enjoy eating but not to pack myself. I have a basic portion and that is more than enough. If I am not filled I drink more during the day as hunger is often a substitute for thirst. But I do not think about food to much or really at all. So who do you get there?
Start with a general attitude of moderation. It is a hard skill to learn. What I did was make one meal had protein, like I liked Tuna. I would have basically one can of Tuna a day, or it could be a couple eggs or chicken or whatever. Then I would take a pretty good multi vitamin like Vitamin shop daily 3. So even when I was experimenting with crazy diet or eating regimes I was OK on micro nutrients and protein. After that I tried to learn moderation and being normal. Just being normal about food is great. It is so liberating and freeing.
You eat when your hungry and you do not think about food or if you are eating too much or too little. You just live your life and think about other things. That is the vision.
But all I can say is if filling your life with your passions, like language or reading or reading romances or whatever. Find stuff you really love to do. For example, I noticed many musicians and artists are not fat. In fact I know many skinny starving artist type. I live near the Bohemian center of my city and I do not think I have really ever seen a fat group of artists. Why? They channel their limbic drives into creation rather than thinking about food. It is because their mind is operation different. They are involved in other things. Learn to make your mind off food. But if you can not really develop your passions to the extent it overrides your thoughts of food and diet, then I recommend, take time and be patient with time to learn moderation.
Portion sizes to be a skinny and thin girl and enjoy your life.
So what is normal and moderate? Portions should be plate sizes, like in a French restaurant. That is not like an American plate of food dripping over the sides but like a French portion. Go to this website: 101cookbooks.com It is by a girl named Heidi Swanson and she is very good with photography. She is a normal girl and thin. I would say all the images on her site are normal. Spend some time to learn these sizes. Of course you will be hungry after seeing the images, but they will give you a good idea what normal is if you study those images.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Skinny girls – How to be a thin girl
Look, not to be critical or anything, but this is quite just a little quite offensive to some out there. I know I am a thin girl, and yes, I do have an exotic beauty but I am just semi-thin.
Because thin and fat girl or should i say “chubby” or “plum” are beautiful, too because it really doesn’t matter from the outside–it matters from your soul. Because I know your not trying to be critical, but maybe if you go to the hospital and see all those old people wrapped up in bandages–you might say;
“ew, my god i do not want to see these people–they’re too ugly!” but whats inside may be something beautiful, like ms. universe or something. what i’m trying to tell you is that–everyone in the world is beautiful, because god created us and he is special–he knows the best.
Be critical. If you feel a particular way chances are someone else does and I would love to hear that point of view. I many not agree but I will consider it. I even alter my posts sometimes when I see something different.
In a universal sense fat and old is beautiful. Every person in the world is unique and I have never seen a girl that I did not think has her own beauty.
I can not disagree with what you have written.
On the other hand, I am talking about something different. Not universal love but specific romantic love for mating and marriage, eros, not something like philos.
Guys find thin girls almost universally attractive and want a skinny girlfriend or wife.
We can not help it. Some like more curvy, but this is not fat, this is shapely. However, thin girls have shape, it is because their hips are wide naturally, not from extra layers. Look at models, many are think but are hippy. I do no like too skinny of course, but a normal healthy thin girl.
Once women have children they put on a few pounds anyway, so not to worry if you like a little extra. But if you start the dating process with a little extra it will blow up to be out of control in marriage.
I guess I am saying that excess anything, including fat is a sign that the person who is involved in the excess is not the best mate choice because they lack self control. You do not want a guy that drinks too much, spends too much time with sports or the guys, or watches TV too much? Well most guys do not want a girl that eats too much. It is just nature, as cruel as it is. There is nothing wrong with desiring someone who is moderate and believes in ascetic practices or at least moderation.
My question to you is how can you make the case that an overweight girl is moderate and in control?
Fantastic post.
I am a normal size 10 girl, athletic body type, but really like the petite body shape. I’d love to have smaller shoulders and to actually own a waste. I am not fat and do not need to eat less, though I had a crash diet earlier this year and lost a bit of weight. Recently I moved to Spain and have been missing my boyfriend and family and have been eating wayyy to much rich, fatty spanish food as comfort and was about to start starving myself again. This post has set my head straight: to live first, then eat.
Thank-you
From my personal experience, that means me, trying t lose and gain weight, the problem was always in my head. I mean there was a nutritionist who just lost weight eating only junk food. He did it to prove it is a matter that people eat too much. But the question is why. In my personal experience it is they are filling their lives with food because they are not living their life.
I do not blame people as life is hard. Much of my life I was lonely or bored or overworked or not feeling well or poor etc. But then I realized this is everyone and even if this was my life I could still focus on other things than food. When I start to really love my life my weight became normal.
I am a guy, not a skinny girl. Guys have problems with weight just like girls. There is only one issue in the weight thing, that is it is in your mind and how you are living your life.
I really like your post. I am just over a size 10, my waist hip ratio is not the “coca-cola” comparison due to genetics…narrow hips, thick abs. But I am very pleased to read a man speak so caringly of women. I personally like myself muscular-thick and know men who like that too. The bottom line is to love what God gave you. And take care of it too.
Thanks!
Ok, here is my idea: I excercise like I said earlier, but I want to lose 30 pounds–going from 146 pounds to 116 pounds. So I should change my diet (?) to vegetables and fruit, instead of bread and other junk food. I have junk food once in awhile, but am addicted to bread.
I want to be thin–like how I used to be when I was minimally normal for my height in the 120s weight range. But I want to go lower than that, down to 116, and then I will be thin. I know that I am a princess because I am a conservative Christian wannabe housewife, but I shall look the part physically.
So a skinny girl has confidence in her looks, excercises, and eats fruits, veggies and protein, and she is thin because of this.
Correct?
Thank you so much for this article. It’s enlightening and and straight to the point and just what I have been looking for.
I have a very small waist and curvy hips but growing up, I always thought that I was supposed to be super-small and curveless like my stepsister so I have grown to hate my body and the curves that, as u pointed out, make me beautiful. Today I make the vow to love my beautiful self and consider myself the slim, gorgeous princess I picture in my head. Thank you
You are the ideal. I mean no matter what you have you can make it look nice. If you are small waist and wide hips I think you will get many guys who fall in love with you for that alone. It is very instinctive as your hip to waist ratio is more ideal. However, if girls are more boyish like Evangeline Lilly, I think as long as you are skinny it is fine.
What is wrong with you! I believe women are more than a number on the scale but a gathering of talents, beauty, and gorgeous energy. Women come in all shapes and sizes! I have seen veracious, gregarious voluptuous women from size 12-18! They are beautiful, model type women and should be loved for who they are, not how anorexic they look. You must not be married, no girlfriend or children.. good luck to you !!
If you date a size 18 with a few kids and time she will turn to a size 24. Why not date someone who is into fitness or walking or eating healthy? I mean if you are into it, go for it. But me personally I love to be active and eat right. No one lives forever but does it not feel better to be healthy and light?
This is a great post talking about weight on women. With a woman, it seems the heavier she is, the more makeup she wears. It is the strangest phenomenon but very true! Like more makeup is going to hide their big butt and stomach? I hate to be rude but it really makes me laugh. For all those women out there, I can flat guarantee you that a nice slender body will attract nearly 100% more men then any makeup will get you! Save your money! All you have to do is get out and walk and exercise. You dont even need to spend a dime on equipment. All you have to do is invest your time by moving your body. Since we’re on the subject, a diet is one of the worst possible things you can do. You need to make a lifestyle change. A diet is not a lifestyle changet it is only TEMPORARY. If you go on a diet you might get skinny (only briefly) but you will soon blow up again.
Okay so I went to the doctor the other day. My doctor is a beautiful European woman of 63 years but she looks 40 ish. She is in great shape and grew up in Europe. I asked her the best way to be thin and healthy and she said, eat red meat very rarely, eat fish and chicken, and lots of salads with vinigarette dressings not fat filled ranches and blue cheeses. She tol me to eat from a small plate, because you must eat less. No big American size portions. She said snack on fruit, but mainly apples. You can not eat all the fruit you want. Certain kinds of fruit have alot of sugar and carbs in them. She said oranges, apples and bananas are great, but strawberries and cantalopes have lots of sugar and can make you gain weight if you fill up on them. She said the forst 3 months you cut down on meals and potions that you will feel hungry, and I hate feeling hungry but she said you have to get through it, and eventually your stretched stomach will shrink back into a normal size. Do not starve yourself, just eat 2 or 3 small meals a day with protein, veggies and snack on fruit. Its not easy to do especially if you live in a place like America where everything is served in huge portions and tons of fat, sugars and salt. You have to work out everyday. This article is somewhat correct but if you dont take being losing wieght seriously then you wont do it so I disagree that you dont need to think about it, you do otherwise you would just be eating all the time and being sedentary. I do agree thought that moving to Europe is the best thing, hahaha. But not many people have the luxury of doing that. Its not exactly easy, with language barries, residency, finding work as a foreigner. But its a nice dream. :p
Sorry for the mistypings. I was in a hurry.
ok i’m not fat, i’m a size 4 in jeans but like my stomache is a little bit bigger, how do i loose that ASAP.
Size 4 is skinny, I would not worry about it. You can tighten the muscles around your abs, but this will not magically make you lose abdominal fat, but it does help. Lots of ab work rarely hurts anyone. Abdominal fat can be from having a baby, being fat as a child and it has accumulated, or impaired gluclose tolerance etc. If you really are disproportional, find out the reason why. I am not sure that you even have a problem at all as size 4 makes you a skinny girl in my eyes. i think a girl with a size 4 jeans will have some fat on her stomach a bit. I guess without knowing more focus on building muscle on your abs but do not worry about this.
I am a size 8 and i want to be a size 6 because thats my idea of attractive, but i have a thyroid problem, my thyroid is overactive that means my weight loss and gain can get quite hectic. Like i can lose 5-7kg in a week and i can gain 3kg in 2 days. Its really that crazy it made me learn to control my eating and from that i lost 15kg (im 53kg and 164cm).With remaining 10kg to lose i wondered how can i lose it fast? Because i cant really exercise too much because i dont have much energy because of my iron deficinecy and my schedule is packed, is there any amount or sort of food i should aim for?
How to get skinny when you have trouble losing weight
Maria, if you have a medical problem in my opinion you are exempt from any self judgment. It is a different story. That being said everyone has something physical to overcome. If you take a positive attitude than in spite of physical problems you can over come this and achieve a more stable and balanced weight.
What would I do to lose and stablize my weight? I saw a study that compared, diet, excercise and diet and excerise. The method that lost the most weight was simply excericse without a real consdieration of diet. It also kept the people’s weight stable over the long term. For me this was a suprise.
This is because once you start thinking of restricting food most people, including myself go into panic and can go in a cycle of weight loss and gain. It is instinctive. If I tell you do not think of a pink elephant, this is the first thing that comes to mind.
I would start walking if you are phsycially healthy enought to. Can you talk to a nutrutionist to get your thyriod and anemia issues addressed? I cook with a cast iron skillet and take a good multivitamin and other things. Spend the money, go to the vitamin shoppe and make an investment.
Try “standing like a Tree’ Chi Kung exercise if you can not do anything physical. You could do this 1/2 hour a day.
Also I play chess, I have not ever really see an overweight chess player. Why? Your brain consumes the most glucose of any organ in your body. Or maybe people with a mental obsession forget about eating, look at Einstein or Mozart. Find things that you can obsesses about besides food. Maybe traveling to France or something.
Read Louse Hayes and find some metaphorical reasons why you might be in the pattern of thinking.
If you want a diet to go by, look up online Dr. Ronald Hoffman’ s Salad and Salmon diet. I think it is one of the best here is.
But there if this is a will there is a way. If you know the why in life the how is easy. Try to find the why you want balance in your life. Glorify God or you want to look better, whatever is your meaning. Then live that meaning.
In summary, I would start with vitamins and gentle exercise like yoga or chi kung or walking if you can and get your mind on other things, mentally stimulating things.
He is an example of a couple women chess players, they have their mind’s focused on other things beside their weight. Intellectual obsessions.

My point is focus on higher things rather than diet if you can. Engage your mind if your body can not take fitness. Use visualization and light exercises.
There are cases of people in captivity who could not move too much and used their mind to keep their body sound. You can do it, just do not get down on yourself or get negative about your situation. Be patient and gentle and non judgmental with you body.
Skinny girls – How to be a thin girl
I dont know how long it has been since my last comment but since then my life has changed a lot. I don’t really care about the food I’m eating I mean I care if it’s processed or not but that’s it. Also, even though I’m eating sweets, it’s gotten much better from my restrict-then-binge thing that I was doing. Also, since inno longer make big deal about food, I found myself snacking less. The greatest thing however is perhaps that my obsession with food, gluttony, is much better. While I still overeat in days I’m tired or I really want to have that sweets, I found that I’m able tonlisten to my body better for signals if that makes sense. All j wanted to say was that this post roped me greatly and I really thank you for this post.
Skinny girls Eastern Europe
Anne, I am living in Eastern Europe, and when we did not have a lot of money at first we were thinner. Why? We did not have the money to buy snack. Our house had no food in it. Americans tend to ‘stock up’. In contrast, our cub boards and fridge was bear. Some people do not even have a fridge. We did not, we stored cold foods outside in the colder months and only latter bought a freezer.
I am only writing this because if you feel the temptation to snack, do not bring food in the house.
We had no food in the house.
Also if you are tired, examine why? What is stressing you so much that you need food or coffee or something that is keeping you going.
Whenever I find something that stressed me, I eliminate it like a bad habit. I left my job several times.
I go on vacation.
I changed my relationships.
Why are you tired?
Also know you are a girl. And girl have sweet craving connected to estrogen. I have no advice on this. I am a guy. However, I think magnesium, a good quality brand, will help this. Have you ever considered looking into this or other vitamins?
Can you find something that will help your sweet craving like a frozen blueberry smoothie? Blueberries help glucose tolerance I think and taste pretty good and are filling.
But my main advice is keep on working on things that will make you happy. Yoga, or reading or traveling. When you get your mind onto other subjects you will it with things besides food.
I think everyone has a food obsession because it is nature, so do not worry too much about it. You are pretty normal. Just try to find ways around it.
You keep saying that women naturally gain weight after having children and from growing older. I’m only 23, haven’t had kids, so it got me wondering: is there a way to combat that weight gain, or is it just natural? I used to be a big girl and worked hard to get down to a size 4/6. I’m all for people loving themselves no matter what size they are, but I know when I was forty pounds heavier, I was not happy with myself at all. I wasn’t exercising or eating right, I was just lazy. Is there a way to fight the weight gain?
I know many girls personally after 50 with kids as thin and shapely and thin as ever. I think sometimes when a woman is a mother she is either stressed or has less time and sometimes temporarily lets this go. Nothing to worry about if you live a life of moderation.
It’s hard tonreaust cravin because my mom (I’m living with my parents) always buys brownies and sweets and they are just constantly there
however I’ve tried eating less of it but it’s just that it’s really hard to do
I really hope that I’ll be able to resist it without struggling so much someday. Also, magnesium you said? Is there any brands that you recommend? Would I need to visit the doctor in order to start consuming them? Is there natural way to bring magnesium into your diet?
Of course I do not want to advise anyone about what to take. But read up on it and make your own judgments, about vitamins.
Some people take magnesium chloride foot baths or go to Walmart/Walgreens and put a little epson salt in the bath. I use natural bath salts mined here locally as it has a lot of trace minerals. I never use anything with perfume or colors added. If I want a scent I add some lavender oil, but it needs to be natural.
It is very hard to live at home, but half the world does it. For example, in Poland where I live most kids live at home until like 30. Even after they are married, this is for economic reasons. They all complain about the same things, that their parents push food on them. Even mind do this, for example,my mother sends me care packages from Florida with food in it all the way across the Atlantic. It is the nature of parents to pack their kids mothers are in this feed the kids mode for the rest of their life, often.
The main thing is be moderate. Be calm, do not make an issue out of it. Do not have show downs or battles. Just if someone is pushing on you, say no thank you – if they ask you why, you do not need to explain yourself because if you give an explanation they will give a counter argument. Just be polite.
Now to resist your own temptations, there are a million ways to do this, from visualization etc. For example, imagine that food you like the most as something disgusting. Brownies could be something really gross.
Or you could try something like give yourself one day to eat what you want, like Sunday.
Or you could ration sweets with cards like weight watchers.
Or you could meditate/yoga and just be aware you are not your cravings.
Or you could make your mind up that you simply will not eat junk and that is it.
If you are Christian you could out loud ask God to help you find balance and peace in your life.
So you have to be aware and conscious of your behavior and commit yourself to be moderate or avoid junk. I like carrots for example, so if I want sweets I eat like five carrots, instead of one brownie.
When my mother or mother in law gives us donuts and cakes etc. I put them in a bag and feed them to the birds. Therefore, they are not wasted. Or wrap them and put them where the homeless hang out in the city and they are always gone.
I do not have any wisdom, but I hope these are some ideas to explore.
Skinny girls – How to be a thin girl
I’m 14, 5 foot 9 . But I’m 199 . Before this year , (like in august) I was 189 . And all of a sudden I gain 10 pounds. Well now I want to do something to make me a size at least 13 or less. But I’m scared to do a crash diet or anything out of lines like that, what should i do?
Skinny girls and love yourself
Ashley, there are two issues here.
The first one is you are 14. Be easy on yourself. I do not give advice but read book by Louise Hayes. Get one of her books like ‘Heal your life’ and understand what is going on. Really sleep with this book and read it as you go to sleep and understand what her message is.
Second educate yourself and be moderate. Avoid trans fats and heated polyunsaturated fats verses stable monounsaturated. Understand what a glycemic index is. Educate yourself.
I think if you bring some awareness both on a psychological spiritual level with Louise Hayes type books and on a scientific physical level with self education about nutrition, it is the best investment of your time as you have the rest of your life to look forward to being healthy.
Once you have done this (the first is more important than the second) try to forget your focus on yourself image and refocus on a dream. I always dreamed of Europe. I live here now. I do not think about food, diet self image and attractiveness too much as I am living my dream. So try to develop and find your dream. It might not be your lifelong dream but for now.
Let me know what you are thinking.
Maybe walking everywhere and eating right keeps you thin and healthy, but you are a man. Women naturally have fat or extra muscle on their hips and chest. Pear and apple shaped women can’t help it if their thighs are large. They will still have large hips when they eat right and walk.
I think you need to think a little more before giving women weight loss advice, as you have no experience being a woman.
I wish I could agree. I wish I could say life is unfair towards women as I personally think the world of women. Women are peaceful, civilize men, raise the next generation etc. However, with weight, although women have estrogen which is a fat producing hormone it is matter of decreasing the relative calories consumed. If men need 2000 calories a day maybe a woman might need 1600.
I live in Eastern Europe, I see very few overweight women at any age or body style. They exist but are an exception. When I fly back to the States the opposite is true and it has to do with lifestyle and the fact people are slightly hyper consumptive.
Granted there are exceptions and medical cases etc for obesity but come on look at the social trends arround the world and the USA was not always like this.
If you want to be skinny, healthy and happy, have a moderate diet, walk a few hours a day, consider vitamins. This is how the Eastern European girls stay thin.
I loved your post, but I have always been bigger then most my age no matter what, I walk alot and don’t eat a ton of food. I was wondering if you had any other ideas on what to do? p.s. I plan on following your advice whole heartedly.
Skinny girls - Visualization
I can not give anyone advice as I do not know anything specific about medical health etc. However, I know generally what I would do.
I have had health problems. The first thing I do is say to God, this is where I am and I thank you for everything you have given me in my life. Accept yourself and know you are perfect now. Not in some ideal weight in the future.
This is acceptance.
Second thing is patience. You need to be very patient and your can change your body and health. Know that like with healing it is never a straight line. It is up and down but generally in the right direction.
Awareness – If it is not, examine your life from a physical, mental and spiritual basis and ask what could be wrong?
Each of these three levels are interrelated, but not necessarily interdependent. Ask yourself what is going on?
So with acceptance and patience and awareness you need action.
I would read more and educate myself more about your body. I would read about nutrition like essential fatty acids and vitamins talk to people in the know, like people at the gym trained in this stuff, every gym has trainers. I would read about strength training which contrary to popular belief will not make girls bigger, but rather slimmer, as muscles burn more calories and it allows a girl to control her body in a better way.
I would also look into visualization. Try to visualise your body as you like it. Make a 3D holographic image of your body in your mind and allow your body to gravitate towards this. Be honest with yourself and create in your mind’s eye the vision for your life you would like to have and surround it with love and acceptance, maybe respresented by the color pink.
Living your life and losing weight
I read this article very thoroughly, and although I enjoyed it a lot, I still think it’s not going to help person lose weight but rather maintain them. I have cellulite on my thigh area and I have to lose a lot of weight, but I don’t see how ‘living my life’ and ‘not worrying about food’ will help me lose weight. The part about natural diet could aid me in my weight loss, but it probably won’t bring fast result that I’m looking for (the bikini season coming up has made everyone very anxious, good or bad). So while I enjoyed your article, I don’t think that it will aid me in my process of losing weight, but rather maintaining my weight
Do not give up just be patient to lose weight
I guess my first question is what is your lifesyle like? Do you take anti-oxidants and if so which ones? I think they help with cellulite. I think this is oxidized fat. How many hours do you walk a day? Do you really focus on other things in your life? When I am busy some days I forget to eat as I am so consumed by my life. I know this is not good but this is what I am talking about. When you start to enjoy your life and be happy and stop worring with time, weight does come off. Believe me. If it does not you can alway get a personal trainer or something or do something mroe radical like a diet. But I do not think you need to do that. Just be patient and live your life.
I think good anti-oxidants and no too much cookies, cakes, pies breads and carbs and walking everywhere and than visualization or even training your trouble parts are all there is and all you need to be skinny. I rarely see Eastern European girls with any wieght issues. They all almost have universally slim figures. They just focus on different things in their lives.
Visualization for weight losss - my kind of article
This article is right up my alley.
I had a baby and have struggled to regain my previous self. It’s been almost 2 years and I’ve lost weight 2 times now, I only really needed to lose no more than 10 pounds. But I keep gaining it back as I get down to the desired weight but my body is not the same at the same weight as before the baby.
No one would even think I need to lose, but I have to go with and do what I think for myself.
This article helps as I do believe you could think yourself thin (if that’s what a person so chooses) and I do!
Visualization sounds fun, and promising, and I plan on starting tonight.
Using visualization to be skinny many different ways
I have seen many people after giving birth struggle with this weight, especially around their mid section, however, achieve their former self or better. It can be done. My wife is working on this, but we are in the middle of a move and our life is chaos now.
The main thing is do not stress about it too much, one way or another it can come off, but some people bounce back in a few months, other it can take years.
It can be done. I have seen people do it.
I have moved mountains with this technique personally. I do not know why it works but I do not care. Using your mind works. I am a skeptical inquirer about most things in life. That means, outrageous claims require, outrageous proof. However, I lucky for me I used this technique before I became so skeptical about everything. So for me I do not need proof. I lost body fat with this. When I combined it with diet and exercise, but I remember the day I started doing this, and it was a turning point. A big turning point.
Look visualization is very powerful. I should write an article just on this, as there are many ways you can make this work. There was a guy who was a POW and, he used it to improve golf scores so when he got out his score was lower, passed the time playing this sport in his mind.
I have personally used it for many things including body shaping. It is one of the easiest techniques there is.
Just make sure you are honest with yourself in the way you want to see yourself. Use different techniques like see yourself exercise or reshaping your body. Anything that is fun and loving and not stressful or desperate. The mind works best when you create the reality in sensory detail. Sure think of dreams that are sensual, your body does not know, it is all in your mind.
The mind is amazing and I do not know why people do not tap into this more to lose weight or shape their body.
The brain is the most powerful organ in your body and it is very untapped. If people could take into this, you will see transformation in your life.
Try reading ‘creative visualization’ if you have not already. Or is you are more traditional Norman Vincent Peale has a book on this too which is equally as powerful. It is called “Positive Imaging”, but there are many books on this.
Some people use self hypnotic MP3s some people use music, other people do it in the evening as they are falling asleep. Other people combine it with morning meditation (I find meditation too hard).
Some people say it is a form of prayer.
There are huge variation on the things you can do.
Skinny girls – How to be a thin girl
Why would you want to live longer?
It is not the point. It is to enjoy your life while you are here. If you are sluggish because of excess baggage and then pain, you freedom is restricted. But also it is not bad to live to se your kids grow up and maybe grandchildren or to just experience more.
Next people will want anti-aging advice
