Well, if I were in your shoes,even though I come from Belarus, one of Russia’s neighbors, I would probably feel the same. Like what I think of Egyptian people or people from Morocco. First of all, my sympathies and condolences to noname56. I had a relationship with a Ukrainian girl and it did not work out. She left me for a very close friend. Almost similar thing happened to me and to a friend of mine:
All of a sudden an email from a “girl”, stating that she found me on an international site (true), and would like to know more about me. She attached a picture of a model, of course. I replied politely, even sent some pictures, so after the second mail she was deeply in love with me – without knowing me at all. She said she lives in a town (as I checked: middle of Siberia) working in a supermarket, and would love to marry me, having kids, great family,nice house with dogs, etc…:) only thing needed: to receive money for the plane and for the visa, insurance. Meanwhile: her mobile phone was broken, she would love to have a girly purple one, etc.etc. IF I would be so kind to send her the money for the plane ticket, or maybe a phone, or the money for the phone. Of course, she does not have a bank account… sure
I checked on the net net, there are many stories like that: most of the time they pick up the money and than disappear. My true love eventually phoned me as I insisted on, but she did not remember to her previous mails, and gave me different information about her background, family, phone, etc. IT was the end of my love-story.

Europe and America and Dubai cultures are diverse
I do not disagree with a lot of what you say. However, there are many places which have modernity and values. Dubai may be one of them. But in the USA there are large parts of the USA that do not follow this conception of a liberal free anything goes society. Large parts of the midwest and south are modest in terms of values. Look sub cultures from the Amish to the Orthodox Jews. In Europe where I live in Poland many if not most Polish girls are catholic and take their religion seriously. Not all but enough so that the girls are modest and truly loyal to their ideals. I do think you have people in Russia that are like this too of course.
The best thing to protect a girl from getting corrupted by the wrong values is the parents spending time with them and teaching them on a day-to-day basis about life. Not preaching as they will rebel sometimes, but just spending time with them.
