As an American who is of Slavic back ground I have always preferred women with exotic Eastern European or Russian girl names. How much more intriguing is the name Anastasia or Natasha than Jill or Madison to be with as acquaintances.
I think certain names are charged with sensuality, while others conjure up otherworldly angelic qualities. These are just some I like. Russian girl names are beautiful almost poetic. The names that are American or worst Anglo-American for my ear is very common and staccato, short and often ending in a hard consonants, rather than a soft female sounding vowel. Imported girl names usually retain their grammatical rues like Isabella.

Katarzyna – This is my wife’s name, it could be Katya or Kasia in Polish or many variations.
Anastasia or Anastasiya – This name I associate with the last Russian princess. It has a story book quality because of this association, something distant and mysterious.
Julia – I connect this name with the great Ukrainian leader Yulia Tymoshenko
Alexandra – This name I like because one of my friends is named Alexandra, she is a happy, easy going girl, also Alexandra Kosteniuk is a good role model for women, she is the most beautiful and best Russian girl chess player.
Daria or Dasha – This is my sisters name, a very nice person.
Anna – this was my grandmother’s names she was from Ukraine.
