  • I met a romainian woman online and she’s never asked me once about how much money I make or what kind of house I have, car I drive etc etc. She’s asked what I do for a living of course but more so our conversations have been about what my/our passions are in life, who we are as a person, our backgrounds, and she also respects (and likes) the fact that I’m a single father.

Not only is she beautifull, but intelligent! Very caring and a great listener. Being this is the first time I’ve persued a romanian woman, the statement made above they look for someone who is humble and wise and of good character seems to ring true in my case.

I’m actually flying out to meet her in March. :-)

  • Hello to everybody!
I have studied the whole forum and found it very informative and interesting. As I noticed that the discussion started from love and eventually ended on money. No doubt money is not everything in life, but we should admit this reality that “in the modern world there is nothing without money”.
If you are poor, it means that you do not have the proper ability to earn money. We should discuss here the quantity of opportunities to rise your status of living.
Now i should tell something about my experience. I am a 20 years old medical student in Krygyzstan(a former Russian state) and have been living here since 2 years. I am a Pakistani national. Came here to get medical education as it is not so costly here. Now I am really upset with the situation I am facing here. People are hard on foreigners. They treat badly foreigners. There is no rule and regulation and the standard of education is pretty bad. Teachers know nothing about the English language. There is corruption and even police will arrest you as you are a foreigner and will make any excuse for snatching money from you.
Now I come to the actual point for which I am writing in the forum is that, A friend of mine suggested me to migrate to Romania. The following are the questions I want to know about Romania:
    1. What is the condition of r_cism in capital as well as other cities?
    2. What is the condition of security provided by police and other law and enforcement agencies in the country?
    3. As my family can afford to a maximum of 300$ per month (other than the annual tuition fees i.e 3800$) So is it possible to survive there with this amount?
    4. If I try to support myself by doing a part time job, what kind of jobs are available for students? and how much can I earn with it?

Any kind of help is welcomed. Please share any information you have.

    • Basically in the EU you would find an easier time, but not always, but if you are going to medical school, it should not be a problem. I observe Middle Eastern people in Eastern Europe have no problem as they keep their head down and work, no body bothers them as everyone has enough problems of their own to expend energy on non productive pursuits. There are many Turkish and other people in Eastern Europe for historical reasons so they tend to blend in a bit. $300 dollars a month is not a lot of money in my mind, I think you would need more like $1000 dollars.

  • I have met a number of Romanian women, and I absolutely agree with your description of them. I myself come from one of the world’s oldest continuous civilizations (the Persians), and I set great store by qualities such as “spiritual depth” and “sense of great history”. (My forefathers had working aqueducts 500 years before the Romans started building theirs :-)
I find the warmth, the grace, the generosity of spirit, the intelligence, and yes the physical beauty of Romanian women captivating. And I have noticed that they too appreciate warmth, selflessness, civility and magnanimity in a man. Unfortunately for me, though, all Romanian women I have met are married. I keep praying that some of them have cousins or sisters who are not married :-)

  • I am going to Romania in 3 months with a friend of mine and I really want to know all the cool places to go to. I would v also like to visit the wifes fair in the north. Anyone have any info on this?

    • Monastic trip to Moldavia

Are you talking about the monasteries from Moldova?
Oh dear, everything you will see here will be cool. Even if the houses don’t look very good the nature is untouched. It looks so pure. Especially at the mountains in Predeal, Brasov. You shoud go by step and explore.

There is a cave named “Pestera Ursilor” (The Bears Cave)- 86 km from the city Oradea.
There is a saline named “Salina Turda” .Turda is a city near the Cluj-Napoca (30km) .
The most beautiful road trip in Romania is Trasfagaraseanul. Look at videos on youtube.
The second highest bungee-jumping from Europe is at Vidraru. The jump costs 100euro.
You should definitely visit Peles Castle (Castelul Peles).

I don’t know much about monasteries from Moldova because I never was there. I am waiting to go when I will really understand everything that is happening in there.

If you are going by bus to the monasteries is cheaper. There are standard trips from Alba-Iulia(city)to monasteries.

An 5 day trip with 4 accommodation days(diner& breakfast included) and about 14 monasteries visited costs 100euro. The price of the entering tickets are not included, I don’t think..but they are not high.

  • Hello Forum,

a nice and lovely romanian girl’s channel in youtube made me to do some researches about romania and romanian girls generally.
And I find the discussion in this thread very interesting. I have already an international relation-ship behind me. It didn’t workout. But I am generally interested to start another try as I think, two different culture can enrich my life a lot.
In my sparetime, I do some researches about almost everything now. And I had to renovate my picture I got about the world basically.

I am a bit surprised that Admin likes the EU. And he seems to be happy that Romania is part of the EU now. But – I tell you the European Union is a very, very scary thing. And as soon as you decide to give up your national currency for getting the Euro, you gave away almost everything. Most people don’t know what’s really going on at the moment. If they did, we would have a revolution like in Tunesia at the moment.
The EU is basically a construction for world companies to make money and to get more power. And the last thing what it is, is a democratic institution.
But ok, that’s not the point why I am here. I just want to find out, if Romania could be an option for me. I am situated in the UK right now, but I am not english, from Germany orignally…

Just want to find out if Romania could be an option for me. Where is the difference to Ladies from other countries I have been yet. I have never been in that part of Eastern-Europe, just a couple of visits in Croatia. But fotos I saw in the internet did show me a very, very beautiful landscape, lots of old castles and nature and woods…
I also checked a few dating-sites. The girls there don’t look bad. Eventhough it was said here, come here and spend some time here, that maybe right. But I had a little break in my life, looking for a new destination. And this time, I just want to proof a little bit more. So my research about Romania is still going on. I am curious what will happen by it.

Wish you all a happy new week..

    How Romanian women think

  • I don’t know what your basis is for saying that. If anyone would agree, you would think it would be a German, like MGC above. Instead, he’s saying that these countries are all losing something, not gaining at Germany’s expense. They lost the right to issue their own currency- which is what the US revolution was all about, not some stupid tax on tea- and likewise the EU is more about banking consolidation and power. Much like the 3rd world countries chronicled in “Confessions of an Economic Hitman”, all countries in the world today are being terrorized by banking corporations. Iceland and Ireland were recently given kinder, gentler version of the IMF hitman model.
While the corporations that own the IMF, banks, are enjoying record profits and bonuses in the middle of the global economic crisis they themself (corporations are considered people) created and profited from… while austerity is being implemented in almost every country in the world.
You might see it as money flowing from Germany to Eastern Europe, but the German here, and I, see it more realistically I think. It’s flowing from all countries, to the banks.
Which was the first country to finally outlaw naked short- selling? Germany. Who was the ongoing beneficiary of that? Eastern Europe? I don’t think so.
Where does all money come from any way? Nations? No, it comes from banks, and nations have to borrow it, at interest. (Except China).
Who owns the ECB? I’m guessing it’s the “member” commercial banks, like the ones who own/profit from the US Federal Reserve and the IMF, World Bank and BIS.

    Definitely not Eastern Europe…

But then again, the only thing I meant to say here, ironically enough, is that according to a study from the World Bank, Romania is the most materialistic country on Earth.
I think some actual Romanians here might agree.

    worldbank.org/html/prddr/trans/so99/pgs24-26.htm

I think you might wanna listen more to all these native people here, from the countries you opine about…

    How Romanian women think

  • sucker4lush is not so far away from the reality. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you at the moment, who is the real owner of the ECB, as I haven’t figured out yet. I am a normal guy, I had nothing to do with financial issues. Since I decided to learn the forex-trading 15 month ago, all I wanted was to understand the markets a little bit better. I found a bunch of friends who tried to learn the same and sometimes they send me links… And so I got information, step-by-step, normal people don’t have.
Since almost 1 year I was able to understand the current money system and the problems it is causing for the majority of the people of this planet. And – the FED plays a big role.
It is true that it is said, Germany started the war, both wars actually. But nobody asked, who financed this. Who paid the petrol who bought the steel who was necessary to start such a scary thing like this scary war. And in the meantime I found out, that the bad part of the German history was financed and extremly supported by – the Wallstreet.
The Wall-Street is dominated by the Dollar. And the U.S. Dollar is emitted by the Federal Reserve in Washington. This institution makes you thinking, it’s part of the U.S.-Goverment and is just there for the people? But the answer is no! They are a private instution. Founded in 1913. Before, there was also a financial crisis, in 1907, 100 years before the current mega-crash has started.
And you are guessing around what is it all about and it’s problems if you don’t understand how the money we all use at the moment is created and how bad the interest really is.
You can fight hours about who was first aroung, the chicken – or the egg. But if it comes to money and debts, you can say, the debts came first, than the money. Where we pay with is actually a certificate about debts. It’s even written at the US-Dollar notes. This is certainly not money anymore. It’s not covered by gold anymore. This is history, unfortunately.
And – the FED influence the whole world.

But this is not actually that why I am here. I want to figure out if a romanian girl/woman would be good for me. And all I read so far sounds nice to me. And it seems, they are also very good educated? Is it could or bad for a conversation with one of them, that I did all this internet researches? Because it influenced my quite a lot. What I wrote before you can find all in the internet, for free and insecured. No password is necessary and this is the real reason why they want to censor and restrict the internet. They fear us. They are afraid we understand their games. Pls. don’t believe in the terror-things. The terror is a show like a bad Hollywood-movie, made by them, I have no room yet here to explain that too.

I am also interested in getting in touch with a girl from another country or culture to expand my horizon. I had this before, but I was not experienced enough. Now I do live abroad as well and see a number of things in a different way than I saw before.
I still couldn’t find a nice Lady and even more a true friend for myself. I am currently situated in the UK. And I must confirm what I read about english women in some other threads this afternoon, where I read about romanian girl’s experiences who moved here to the UK as well like I did.

So what I read so far about romanian girls sounds very, very good too me. And I am still influenced by the one I saw in this Youtube Channel. Of course I know I can’t get her. But maybe a similar one. Also, my mum had a work colleague who came from Romania to work in Germany, she was a very nice Lady. I can’t speak bad about her.

So thank you for your great patience with me for my long words and maybe 1 or 2 silly questions…

    How Romanian women think

  • HA! The picture that you have titled as “beautiful Romanian woman” looks like uncle fester from the Addams family movie. The more I read from you the more I think your sense of beauty is rather off. You think have met every single Western/American woman, and you are so dead wrong in your assumptions. I know MANY more Eastern European women who are rude and will only talk to a guy if he has money. Where on earth do you get your strange delusional ideas about these women? Oh and nice try making excuse for Eastern Euro trash pros. As if its ok because they need money for school or whatever you said! There are far fewer pros in the USA. Also, there is a thing called Human Trafficking and its happened everywhere, you seem to not understand this.

  • You are way off base here. Look I live in Eastern Europe. Romanian girls are in my experience much more moral than many American gals. American gals might have multi partners and a series of causal relationships and then in the same breath dump on ‘working girls’. It is hypocritical.
I can tell you that in my personal experience living and studying both cultures, I feel better and safer in Eastern Europe. The one thing the States does have is more money. But income is not a good indication of anything.

  • I will try to get a contact to a romanian girl. Eventhough it’s not so easy to understand Eastern Europe when you are Western-European.
At the end of the day, I think, they are not sooo different. I found out a couple of years ago, when I was talking to some foreigner girls during a visit in Asia, they actually have the same problems like us. They have happiness, they got also abandoned by their bfriens/husbands. The stories are the same, only the names are different. You can also find all characters there you can find here. What might be is, that a certain culture prefers and supports a certain characters while others don’t have a chance to get a life very much.
But basically, we are humans, all the same species. So human things are the same, the culture maybe different. But this is the interesting part of it. To find out what kind of music they like. What kind of food they cook. Are they closed to family members or not so. What kind of art do they like. O – and the landscape. I found out Romania has lots of woods, green areas and Castles who are as good as those you can find along the rhine-valley between Bonn and Koblenz.
So I think, if most of them think like it was said here, I believe I like that and I will find a way to communicate with them…
At the end a big thank you for information how girls of certain nations can be. Admin, you do a great job and I learned a lot just by reading your texts.

  • Romanian women are beautiful indeed. However, they are not the top of the Europe, and when you see what comes in the package along with the beauty, you’d rather pick something else…

“Romanians have three themes in their culture which has influenced the individuals living there.
    1. Spiritual depth
    2. Greatness in their historical past
    3. Economic hardship”

    1. I doubt Romanians ever had spiritual depth. Romanians have a strange approach, they are materialistic people that sometimes go to church. They believe death is final, and that’s all about it, but they apply religious rituals correctly , pray and sometimes they even go to church. Probably it’s more on the countryside. I could never understand how belief and disbelief can reside in the same person without conflicting.

    2. There was some historical greatness in the past, up to 1600… Then things started to go down the drain… But anyway, it’s not a major theme.

    3. Economic hardship – this is correct, though you contradict yourself by saying the income would be $1000. The normal income (not economy average, that’s bul) it’s about 250 euros – for the country, except Bucharest and Timisoara, some say.
Bucharest has higher salaries, though it would be impossible to live there as a non-bucharestan without having a top notch job. It’s actually easier to get abroad than to Bucharest (at least it was for me).

In a way, romanians have a new spirituality. It is a new, let’s say paradigm of life. It’s called “fita” – I cannot translate it in english, and it is their new religion. Simply said, Money and Connections is the God, Car is the Son, and Insolence is the Holy Ghost.

This is the trinity that resides in the hearts of many of my countryfellows…

Money and Connections are a general thing in Romania. I’d say Connections is above Money. Because without connections there’s nobody to bribe…
And then, the Car. The Car is their Saviour. You don’t exist if you don’t have a Car, and it doesn’t matter whether you like or not to drive. No girls will be willing to date you if you don’t have a car, because you’re an inferior man. And if you have a Car, it must be expensive. And, because girls are the type “fara numar” – “no limit”, the Car is never enough. If you have an old one (Dacia) they will say that is not a car, if you have a Logan they will say it’s not a Volkswagen, and if you have a Volkswagen, they’ll say it’s not a Maserati. They always want more, more and more. There’s no limit. “Fitoasele” don’t have. If you treat them nice, with or without a car, then you’re just a fool with money, worth of being taken advantage of. If you treat them like , they’ll feel offended, but that’s because the price was too small – starting at about 11, they all think they are some kind of princesses and top models that have to get the best of the stuff. They all think they value from tens of thousands of dollars to up. Guess nobody told them what “modelle” means in german…
But if you have Insolence, then it’s fine…the car can be not too good, the job can be regular, and so on…because that’s what they want from a REAL MAN. They will never ever respect you as long as you respect them, because respecting them makes you a wussie! If you just wanna meet girls like these, better just go to Los Angeles. It’s exactly the same type – because this behavior was copied from movies – in the end, the Americans exported their society model.

And of course, there are regular women, non-fitoase, who are marginalized socially. They are women who studied a lot, have bad salaries, don’t invest too much in themselves, and are most likely not present even on internet, many of them even disbelieving men or relationships.

However, “fitoasele” might make some exceptions for you, as a foreigner. They suddenly start to behave themselves when a foreigner comes in, like kids that stop being naughty when somebody comes to visit. There is something in their mind whispering them that they might lose a good catch or a foul with money if they treat you like dirt. When they discover you’re not good enough – not the “top notch” of the club (or the environment where you meet them) – they’ll trash you.

If you want s_xual experiences, look for pros. These know to behave themselves. Better avoid clubs. Ever since you go for a club start feeling something evil in the athmosphere, you can almost touch it, and yet not realise what it is. Upfront, the facade is that FUN is important. But that’s only the facade. Actually, Romanian clubs are very much like masonic temples – everything is hierarchical, so that every one is at its proper level – from the top notch innermost to the poorest near the door. There is no fun behind their “fun” – it’s only the jungle law of the more powerful showing off how much money can be spent and attracting the girls like the light that attracts mosquitoes. And you will have powerful adversaries there, people that have all the money from dad, who is a powerful schmuck in the bucharestan society. Be careful even when looking at girls – even the football players, probably the most successful men with ladies in Romania have issues with this – you can always end up with a knife in your belly! Never mind, the killer will get out of jail in a few months or a year, that is, if will ever get jailed!

Bottom line – it’s not worth! S_x is pretty cheap – that is, where it is found, in Bucharest – the rest of the country stays very bad at this chapter, and that’s it. If you want serious girls – Romania is not a choice for you – I’d pick Germany, if I could.
I live in Portugal now, and it’s far from being perfect, but at least I get respected – and this is a fair deal for me. Most people believe Romanians leave their country for money, but actually there are pretty many countries with small salaries that are not affected like Romania and Moldavia. For instance, Bulgaria. Because it’s all about the social environment – it’s bad enough to have a small salary and not be able to change it, but being disrespected for this, after studying a lot, it’s like being in Hell! I think it’s among the reasons that make Romania so hatred by us, the Romanians. Best advice : AVOID ROMANIA!

    How Romanian women think

    • Romania disappointing for love and marriage

Let me share my Romanian experience with you. I’ve grown up in a quite cosmopolitan environment, travelling the world, having an open-minded up bringing and kind of very blessed in every way in western europe. I am thankful to God for my kind of life and being me. Until I was brought to a point where I started doubting myself thanks to my Romanian ex and her mother.

Nothing I ever did, no matter how noble or good it was, never was good enough for them. Her mother was like Mama Frankenstein always directing her daughters manipulative, overly demanding, selfish and undeserving behavior in order to not love me but to possess me and use me.

I had numerous fights and break ups with this girl. You would not believe that even though of so much disapproval I took from them I even thought of marrying this particular evil girl.

All my friends disguised her and told me that with such a mother what do you expect (they knew the mother also personally). When I went to Romania I felt this exact behavior from her friends and women in general. Like Eco said, I could feel evil in the air.

It was like normal people turned into man-eating zombies you had to watch yourself from. It was the over emphasis on material and insecurity in own. Everything was Pula this and Pula that after we became close..I thought it was amusing at first but its right like eco says that they behaved like the most sophisticated, educated straight out of miss manners book angelic women and then the real face comes out. They started to behave like MEN off the street.

I kept on observing but believed for her spiritual bs and being my soul mate and all not and she could not ever imagine not to marry me one day or she will be empty forever, etc. Until exactly 2 weeks later she tells me, that I’m nothing but bothering her and should get out of her life. thing is that later I find out that after I left all the crap and ran for the hills (very shortly before that) to think, meanwhile she connected with a stooge and started betraying me at least in mind. Although I’m sure she cheated. The next guy she got together with was like her magazine dream I think, but 2 months later after she was together with him she started to make hints about our relationship and what all good I did and how good I was, talking about us. But it was just to tap the waters if I would still be her stooge, at least that’s how she wanted me to be. When I didn’t “comply” she started to pick on me and then suddenly tells me she is engaged now. Mind games of a real bitch !

My Uncle whom I wasnt much in touch with I found out was martially fraud by a Romanian and she suddenly after the marriage switched, divorced from him and took his house and his cars. when I told this to Caroline my ex she laughed and said: “well smart girl”…heh??! How could you ever say that you evil ho?! I mean I was talking to her after long time normally and then she makes this remark.

Her mother tried to command me to help her daughter with her hollywood career and do this and that for her and I ignored it cause She was together with this guy first of all and secondly never apologized to me for the shit she had done to me, never felt a bit of remorse. It was just about using as much as possible. So I kept on ignoring her and finally told the mother look your daughter gave me much pain, so ask you respectfully not to contact me anymore..she waited for 2 weeks (maybe so I change my mind) to tell me her last words: “f-you”. That’s a mother, a person whom I’ve also done a lot for.
I do not even want to start of telling here how shameless, valueless and bitchy these women were. And to me there was no more difference suddenly to other ho type Romanian girls I came across and them.

If there was a law of love, these women would be on the electric chair. Its been many months now and I am up on my feet and happy (been with a much better girl – but didn’t work – the normal way), but the scar may stay forever of what they had done to me.
I think I was of no use suddenly or not just that useful moneywise to them, that’s why their PLAN changed out of the blue.
No it wasnt a normal “off” a woman gets, it was clearly an agenda she followed.

I was the one who got “off” during the last days of our relationship but still tried to fight for it as I had so much invested into her and loved her.
My experience is that there are plenty of bad people out there as much as there are good, but true evil exists in women like this. And also men who follow a similar pattern.

      How Romanian women think

      • Money and parents destroy marriage often

I am sorry you had to go through that. Really I am. It could happen anywhere not just Romania. It is painful what you went though and I do not think it was your fault at all. You are a good man and someone used you. It will take time to heal and time does heal all wounds. But it was not your fault and you are a good man.

There are two things that do not belong in a marriage:
        1. Money
        2. Parents
There is two things that does belong in a marriage:
        1. Actions speak louder than words – Joint religious practice on a regular basis. My parents for their sixty some years of marriage have said the rosary daily. People talk ‘spiritual’ and ‘soulmate’ but this is not the same as having a joint practice of humility like the rosary or whatever your religion is that has something like this.
        2. The agreement before marriage – Conversation about money and parents and how marriage has nothing to do with this.

If neither party is religious you have to make darn sure that you both have an understanding that nothing comes before the union of marriage and no with words but actions. This should be seen in the dating phase.

If the girl has a problem with the fact that you tell her you want to live in a Romanian village for the rest of your life, than she is not for you. I told my wife I wanted to live in a small block of flats the rest of our lives. I live in Poland for ten years. Money was not why she married me. We did just move to sunny Florida but that was after a long time and not in the plan.

Girls that say they want love and money, both, mean they are nothing but Romanian girls who do not get a call back. I would not call a Romanian girl who wants both love and money. I was living in a 18 meter flat when I met my wife and I told her I was poor.

This is the way it has to be. Love or money but not both.

The good news can start again. But remember endings are really beginnings. How you end one relationship or job is what you will bring into the next relationship or job, unless there is forgiveness in your heart, that means wishing good on those who hurt you.

It is easy to go to the dark side. I do it myself. The dark-side like in the Star Wars analogy is easy to understand. Hurt and fear turns to anger and leaders to the dark side. Emotions start to dwell. I recommend Neal Lozano’s book Unbound.

I am not saying this to be anything bu helpful as I have suffered a lot in my life and this comes from experience. If you have any questions or comments please let me know.

        How Romanian women think

  • ….I’m dreadfully tired so my writing skills may be impaired

Eco what you just described is rather common if you go to clubs I’m guessing. You don’t want these girls who just want $$$ because they’re lil niet’s and know nothing of this world except following the herd. It’s this whole status pseudo, it is propelled by wickedness.Know that they’re wraped up in a capitalist game and are there for a pleasure, a sexual object with no brain or soul. This is all true unless you find a way to reach deep within their heart and unleash the angel within. Every girl no matter what age has that little girl inside who wants to be set free. Free to love and fantasize. They will slowly in the process drop all the knowledge they’ve stored about this cruel world and will live in their own happy one with their lover. They all want to believe in their savior and see the world through a child’s eyes. A man has to prove this because a girl simply won’t survive living life like a fairy tale and so they have to tough it up, cold to the bone. Blame the man though, not the girl. See if there ever were a hell, then it would be made by man. Every man has conflictual decisions that relate to sins or morality, which is why capitalism gains so much growth from feeding off our desires and finds ways to attack our sub-conscious, reluctantly making these decisions for us. This makes men like wild animals, encouraging and flaunting the act of destruction to another in order to feel “on top” and “elite”. I don’t need to use examples, everyone experiences them and almost all of us give way so that we’re not part of the lesser group. You think this is a primal feature of man and is backed up by psychological evidence? No this is a lesser feature of man which is overcome with much discipline and the fact is we’ve come a long way since cave people. Blame the system, blame yourselves for what you would do if you were the wicked and if your a “player” than it’s your loss, you’ll never find meaning in your life and will focus on physicality while you ride a fairest-wheel with all your other counterparts whom care nothing about you. The women get swept up in it all and more likely than not will get screwed over many many times. Mind games, pornography, don’t even get me started. And this is coming from someone who tore the heart out of an innocent Romanian girl who was adopted by a Canadian family. I made her world go round for over three years and proved to her that dreams do come true because I’m not like the other guys, I’m “the one”. All to use it in the end to appeal to my desires. They’ve got a reason to act this way.

Western and Eastern girls are different in primary and secondary ways. On one hand theirs cultural things that have made way throughout history which I would perceive as secondary. Primarily western girls will have the curse in which I listed above but because of the feminine revolution, one doesn’t feel the need to “need a man”. In the east however a girl’s more dependent, especially countries like Romania and this has grave consequences but can make things more romantic; Heh roman-tic, ironic eh. Things are changing however but that’s because of globalization. I wouldn’t concern myself with being the best as I did.

For the revolution is coming. When the people are educated, when the world is plagued by the same internal impurities, humanity will be united. A bright star in the horizon and a determination for greatness by all, for all. The end draws nigh as a 300 year struggle comes to an end! The french revolution may not have succeeded in it’s time but it will in ours. For we have learned of capitalism while others in the past speculated, only now may we know what to do with it. The current system has peaked, golden age capitalism is now at work, reeling in the entire world, spreading itself thin. Capitalism is key to growth but not the final result. From here we experience it’s implosion, in it’s most pinnacle hour. Slave labour and everything upward can be hidden no longer in foreign lands. We the people, the inhibitors of this Earth see like gods if we may… over this small world. All shall know, the blood of a few and the dawn of the new millennium succumb to a conclusion, a new people. Fire will scorch this earth as we inspire an existential passion within. All who know, who feel, are soldiers unlike any other. The kin of revolution, real men, real women. The time has come to feel the air you breathe, the answers are all around you and upon the splinter in your brain, see without your eyes; The world for what it is. In respect to all those who’ve suffered through the ages in direct result of royalty, industrial inheritors, capitalists and callous leaders. Your tap be felt and measures be taken soon. We of the new generation will not be an advocate to population control, we will be empathic towards all except the old masters of this world. Status will for once become something interchangeable by determination to be both great and good, not one or the other…Forget everything you know of this world, search within and listen to none other than your truth that lies within, there you will find the flame. From all corners of the Earth, humanity unite! The beginning of the end! And in it’s place a new world! A world where power is earned but never kept. Where we each have a value equivalent to the next. Let us govern our own lives by taking part as intellectuals and decide upon matters, from one community to the next, as citizens in union, not merely casting a vote and handing our power for another to claim. Our Leaders, inspiring, mind and spirit; our party acting directly upon the consultation of our many councils in the form of organization. For once and for all may we live in harmony with one another, leaving wars and borders to the history books, whilst respecting a people and their culture.
Liberty, equality, brotherhood, for the rest of time.

    How Romanian women think

  • I am planning to travel to Romania in the mid year, and yes i met a Romanian girl and I think they are great, most of the characteristics are well described, my question is what documentation is required besides visa, i went to the embassy and they asked me for assurance, bank statement, is it difficult to get the VISA? if you can help me I am not still an US citizen , I am in process, but my interest to met this girl is so high, because she make me real happy besides the feelings we have each other which i hope end up in love.

    • I do not understand. You want to get a visa to Romania or the US? It is equally hard to get an EU visa as a US visa. You need to be married, a student or have a company support you in the process.

  • Dating a Romanian girl

I am Greek and i live in Greece for the time.
I met a Romanian girl (26yo) 2 months ago. At first i was impressed by her intelligence and her values in life.

First month of our relation was ok. She had strong financial problems (lost her job here in Greece) but never asked anything from me. She mentioned her problems though. Her mood started to go bad because of that.

I decided to help her a little because i couldn’t stand see her being more and more sad.

I helped her as much i could but a couple weeks ago i told her that i can’t help her anymore until i find another job for me, i had lost my job as well before she did and i don’t have much money left. (Greece collapses under the economy crisis…more and more people lose their jobs).

Since then the crisis in our relationship started as well.

Almost everyday we have fights and today that i write this i’m not sure if we are really together really.

During this 2 month period that we are together, we made love (or “we had s_x” if you prefer) only once. That’s another thing that bothered me and i tried to explain to her that i want her and that it’s very hard for me to play the “good boy” when I’m in love with a woman.

Well, I should better invite the devil for a dinner, she got mad, angry, aggressive and ironic and sarcastic, telling me that that’s all i am about something else.

And all these, after much help that i gave to her without asking for anything in return.

To the poster of the article:

Now, I doubt very much if the model of the Romanian women that you have in your mind is true.

I feel like I’ve been a fool believing and trusting a Romanian woman. I hope it turns out that I’m not, but i doubt it.

  • @ J-Dub: surely you will be another “innocent” victim of some Romanian “girl”. it’s not safe to go to a foreign country especially if you don’t personally know someone from that country. I’m from Romania and I wouldn’t advise you or anybody else to fly here based on the stories of someone you met on the internet. take care of yourself, and don’t trust strangers in Romania. if by any means you fly to Romania, book a room in a hotel in advance and just don’t trust “girls” you meet online. maybe you think you will find here the love of your life, but I seriously doubt that…

  • Romania is actually in Central Europe, not Eastern Europe. And that’s from a geographical point of view. The only reason Romania is considered Eastern Europe is because of the communist reign. So please correct that.

  • To everyone who is gonna read this article:

Beware of Romanian women. Things are completely different than those that Admin describes. Double and triple check before you trust.

Just for your own good. You will feel sorry like me. Do you really want to try? Be my guests.

To admin: I hope my post passes your strict moderation for everyone’s good.

    • Sotiris, thank you for the comment. I only really moderate when people use bad language, chat style writing or when people cross the line in terms of peace and love for all humanity.
If you had a negative experience with dating Romanian girls, you can convey this. However, like I said, go for girls that are normal, have faith in God, are pro-life, have a picture of the Holy mother in their wallet for example. This would be a normal Romanian girl. And observe their actions to others you observe kindness. You can fool people for a short time, but I think the world has many wolfs and lambs. In business or personal life, you want to make sure that, you yourself are a lamb and you interact with other lambs.
In my experience living in Eastern Europe for many years most people are very trustworthy and nice. If you had a bad experience examine why and what lead you there.

      • How Romanian women think

I am not so sure that Sotiris is a lamb. I would rather say he is more a wolf.
That Romanian girl lost her job, she is living in a foreigner country without support from her family or without friends. She gave herself with body and soul to this guy and this is complaining now that they didn’t have “sex” for months.Meantime he says that he is not expecting anything from her as an exchange for his little help, as her friend.
I guess he is used to live and know Greek girls, that use to easily “jump” from a boy to another when the things goes bad.
Well, this Romanian girl – as I see in his own story – gave him all she has, his body and trusted him. It is obviously that the girl expected more from him, eventually a marriage, as the most of the romanians use to expect , especially when the thing are going in that direction.
I can see only an hypocritical point of view of this guy. Selfish.
        I really pity that girl.
Who is the wolf, ready to get easy fun for nothing?
The girl gives herself , her body and this guy (I can’t call him a man) is complaining.
A real man wont do something like that ! It is a shame and amazing how someone can write such things without any shame.
A real man wouldn’t be acting like that !

    • It is the same in most countries

You need to check and re-check but this happens in all countries, have you triend in Russia and Ukraine its worse. You can go always home.

  • Romania and life in and out of marriage

I’m afraid Sotiris’ case is not singular. I’ve seen this all around. Romanian women just get “desexualized” in a strange way. After marriage, in a few years, most of them forget about being women anymore. Food, kids, money problems, career problems, everything just jumps way higher on their priority list, anything than the couple life. So in a few years you get to live with a kid and a strange woman in your house, that’s supposedly your wife. There is nothing feminine in them left – nothing of the girl you once knew, from the passionate lover that you had you end with a roommate that happens to be the mother of your kid. In many cases, the locative space is the big issue that interrupts sex life – kids simply grow up and there is no way to have a normal s_x life (Romania has the lowest space/person in Europe, approx. 14 m2). But I think this excuse can’t cover it all up, there must be something more. Misogynysts may believe that all women are like that, but once you get to travel to other places you see that in a lot of places, women keep remaining “women” long time after marriage. Only a few cultures are affected by this “virus”, all the cultures that imported heavily the Americanism. Somebody was making a comparison on a blog, how are American girls compared to Finnish girls. American girls have high confidence and low self esteem, while finnish would be the exact reverse, have low confidence and high self esteem. You may consider that self confidence and self esteem would be the two sides of the same coin, but it really isn’t. And I see the same at Romanian girls. Copied perfectly after the American ones, reshaped culturally by the media, they exhibit the same “features” : high confidence, shown by the way they value themselves (usually, in euros, all believe they are next to movie stars) and low self esteem. You see how low they get when they see how they are treated by their alpha boyfriends, while exhibiting the same high insolence versus other men. I consider they get what they deserve for insolence. Only Romanian girls that are good are highly educated and very hidden – they may be found in online environments, but with incomplete profiles, usually even without pictures. They face a double isolation : from the economic environment, they may be in the underdeveloped areas of the country (all the country besides Bucharest and Timisoara is in the middle ages, except for large cities, that are live-able) , and from the social environment, which emphasizes the “others”. Once met face to face, they may attempt some insolence only to be not considered stupid. All I can say, just avoid the Romanian conception over the “game”. The game is wicked, made so that few can win, the rest are just not equipped either financially or emotionally to win it, they are condemned to just watch others and/or burn their wallets in their process. I hope to get to Finland this year. I met some Finnish girls and God, they’re normal people! They are a strange sight for any Romanian, accustomed to see beautiful girls shrouded in a cloud of confidence and insolence, that you may even ask yourself: how can something like this even exist?

    How Romanian women think

  • Romanian girls emotions over money

    Eco, very well put!

As an update to my case:

My relation with that Romanian girl ended and it ended badly. Couldn’t be worse.

Not only i didn’t hear a typical “thank you” for all the help i offered to her, but i’m also accused that that is all i am, someone who gives his help for a while and then stops…

She told me actually: “i need someone who will be close to me who will help me…”.

ME -> Laughing-out-loud, that was the exact i thing i was doing 2 months now, sacrificing much of my valuable resources for her in a period of time that every single pence is valuable to survive this economical crisis where i live and overcome this difficult situation…….

I guess she meant: “dear fool, i got what i could from you, time to jump to the next one…bye-bye idiot”

A good lesson of life for me anyway.
I valued emotions over materialism, but with the wrong woman.
And she is not the only Romanian that does that in Greece.
She was just capable enough to fool me that she is something else something pure.

Be careful with that kind of Romanian “fruit” because looks nice but it tastes bitter.

To Admin: your comment noted. But i believe these days we should consider other people as wolfs primarily and then let them prove that they are lambs. Especially the Romanian women.
I did the opposite and paid the high price for it.
    Take care.

  • Romania has nothing to do with Poland, they are two completely different coountries, everything you write does sounds correct when you replace the term Romanian with Polish but 2 completely different people and cultures both today and historically.Europe is different to America we might all live under the EU banner but that does not mean we share the same values or culture, not yet anyway. For a start there is just as many differences between Northern and Southern Europeans as there are between East and West.Polish people might be Catholic but they are def Northern.Romanian’s are a Southern European people much more Latin temperament. You really have to look at Europe as a melting pot of tribes and cultures then you can maybe try and characterise aspects of certain European cultures and countries.Even today tho the differences between Polish people and Romanians is pretty big,its like comparing The Scottish people with The Spanish.

    • You are right in some aspects. But both are very religious countries relative to the west. Both had the Eastern European communist experience which sheltered them from the West for 50 years. Both have a large rural population and are close geographically. You could draw a lot of difference but I think there are more similarities. I think Poles and Italians get along well also in marriage and love because both are traditional cultures.
Romanians are not southern any more than Poles are Northern. They are both Eastern even if culturally the roots are different. In that case you are correct.

  • Campbell I am Scottish.
I find a lot of similarities between Scottish personalities and northern Spanish.
Both have Gallic heritage and protestant heritage.
To say that Poland is northern and Romania southern is overly basic.
The author has an in depth understanding of tribal/cultural/religious migration in Europe.
    good article.

  • Romania and Romanian women culture

Historical cultural influences took a very long time to shape countries and mentalities. People changed in 20 years of TV, from which the last 5 were more radical, more than they changed in hundreds of years. Generally people tend to believe all the junk TV is feeding them, and I say to you, in Romania they fed us with loads of junk and they are still doing thing Why? Simple – there are lots of stupid people and junk sells. Don’t believe me? Look at that FarmVille thing on Facebook. Anyway, If you look at the sports news for instance, it looks like their family album. We simply have to know cars they bought, what are the heavy salaries and contract fees those ball runners are earning, which women they are f***ing tonight and who they date last week. They have to make us feel inferior – hey look, bastards, these guys are the real deal! For instance in Portugal sports news are only about sports (meaning football) – you see a trainer saying something, some scores and that’s it. Then you have the talk shows. Now I don’t mean the good, political ones, but the crappy ones about stars, gossip , showbiz or just rich bastards that do nothing all day long – and they usually feature tall beautiful sluts as ‘assistants’ – that start their ‘career’ in TV and pursue the career of being stars. (For instance, Antena 2 – ‘Rai’ da Buni’, Antena 1 – ”Neata cu Razvan si Dani’) .Now if you may shut the TV and listen to music on the radio – but it’s not crap free – the shows are continuing, making fun of the “stars” to entertain the masses of unknowing listeners, but carefully maintaining their name “on air” so that they don’t lose their ‘star’ status. Best example – Radio Zu. Plus that you’re constantly reminded with promos how cool are certain types of behavior, so that you must know that you’re not cool. So I shut down the junk and I found out nice Internet radios with nonstop music. Now let’s get back to our TV assistants, the big key for understanding Romanian girls! Like Paris Hilton, they do nothing, but get loads of cash from TV stations, get introduced in high life and get rich boyfriends and/or customers (because they become really deluxe working girls – the kind that are not in the newspaper). But their escort status is something very hidden, only available to some people that address them directly, for the rest they remain simply stars of the screen. All girls, starting from 13, want to be TV ‘assistants’, models or TV presenters for sports news (because these are getting football players as boyfriends/customers). And they act like they are gonna become like this, by forming up a specific arrogance. What about boys? What do boys wanna become ? Football players , gypsy singers, politicians. This is the Romanian media scene that is constantly shaping up the youth. So things like ‘Polish are northern, Romanians are southern’ is something that has absolutely no link to the problem. Young Romanians are becoming whatever the media is pushing them to become. As for the old, I think they are doomed on a short time frame, as I expect massive emigration after the final success of the new ‘Slavery Code’ – that is, a quick collapse of the pension system in the years to come. A UN forecast shows that Romania by 2050 might have 9 retirees per worker. So, the heck of a future.

    How Romanian women think

  • Roman Empire and Romanian women

Admin,Living behind the Iron Curtain for 40 odd years probably does give a short term shared cultural experience for the two countries as it would do for the other dozen or so Soviet Bloc countries, but that does’nt wipe out centuries of cultural identity. When I say Romanians are southern what I mean is they are a Latin culture, the language for instance is a derivative of the Latin Language, was’nt Dacia an integral part of the Roman Empire and something even today some Romanians are very proud of,there also seems to be a strong Middle-Eastern influence.Who a country trades with today will tell you where the modern cultural ties lie,I know Italy is Romanias most important trade partner today along with Germany and France. The location of the capital city will tell you alot about where the imported trade came from historically and this in turn brings with it the influences from other cultures and countries,Bucharest is seated in the south. So apart from the Soviet era I dont see much shared experiences specifically between Poland and Romana, they dont share a border and I don’t even see a physical resemblance between the people as a whole.

    • Italy, Germany and France are Poland’s biggest trading partners also. Where do you think Fiat is made? It is the Eastern European post communist experience and they countries are very close geographically and both Christian. From the eyes of a foreigner in Romania or Poland if you are passing through a small town besides the language of the street signs no one would be able to tell the difference.

  • Romanian girls views and thinking one person's view

Sotiris, you are greek (about your name). I have all respect for greek nation and I love to spend my holidays there. But, you are unfair, because u had have a bad relationship with a romanian woman. I`m romanian too (male), and I know better then you how romanian girls act. I`m not an nationalist guy. We are rules now by idiots, but the people not means the leaders. Whatever … romanian girls are kaind, worm and generous. With a lot of common sense and a beauty like nowhere in this world, an romanian girl can be anything u dream ever. Maybe the “new wave” girls is just beautiful and they lost few traditional qualities, but in a strange way the romanian woman remain the best female I ever seen. To be with an romanian woman it`s an honour u must value. I`m sad because I give u this tips, because I`m male and I suffer when I see romanian woman married with other nations guys, but this is the true. For example: Come in Romania with a new brand Bugati. Many young girls will smile to you in the front of clubs, but u will never married with a romanian girl. On the other side come here with a cheap non-toxic car, and talk to her about your dreams, your hopes and your good traditions. Tell her about a simple life in respect and dignity and maybe (but not necesary) show her a big bank acounnt. This bank acounnt can count 10%. But 90% means other stuff. A romanian girl know better then you to live with 300 euro/month, so she will survive happy without much money. But if u are a bad guy, an arrogant one, or you will treat her with no respect, you will lost her soul. And yes, in this moment she can be verry bad. You can see an verry ugly side of her. An strange romanian habit is to endure much without a word. Why? God knows why. It`s our heritage. So, ask her what she feel, because she will never say, until will be too late.

  • Greek and Romanian girls

    Tiberiu,

yes i’m Greek, but not of one of the usual vain and selfish modern Greeks you see around here, sporting an expensive car only for show and spending around money at the clubs just again only for show.

That girl is not the first Romanian person i met. I’ve been working together with a Romanian guy for 12 years, i know his family, i learned from him the culture and values of Romanian people. And what i learned from him, believe me i liked it.

I can’t put my hand in the fire that all Romanian girls are like what i experienced. But some of them come to Greece only to chase money. Even that, i can understand it. Poverty can be a very bad factor that can change sometimes people values.

Anyway, this time i write this, i do my second try to win back my Romanian girlfriend.

It’s simply that how much i loved her and i don’t want to believe that she wanted to fool me in any way.

If i don’t do that i maybe regret for the rest of my life.

So, i better try once more to understand what’s in her mind than regretting it for ever.

To your comment: “So, ask her what she feel, because she will never say, until will be too late.”

I already asked her, but she insisted not to tell.

I don’t know another better way to “unlock” a person’s thoughts except asking. But asking doesn’t seem to work.

  • @tiberio and @all

…and my second try which was also a test for her had extremely quick results.

Tiberio, your compatriot which happened to be my girlfriend for a while is now in Romania in a place out of Bucharest, spending the “test” money i gave to her with her Romanian friends.

If that’s what Romanian women are, sorry i will not take…

And once more to all, beware…
As it seems poverty erases people values. Especially Romanian women’s.

    Bye.

    • Big mistake dude about Romanian girls

Man, if that girl cheated you that doesn`t mean all the girls here are the same. This happens everywhere no matter which country people belong. It`s a big mistake to generalise an entire people because of what happened to you. Cheers

  • My story of how I meet a Romanian princess and have a fairy-tale

I am a 41-year-old male in the USA. I was looking for a nanny to help with an adoption I was having this year. I meet a divorced mother needing work to provide for her 6-year-old daughter. She was willing to leave the country for this. But she was not willing to leave her daughter behind. We talked for several weeks. We Skyped every night. I told all my life and she told me hers.

I agreed to fly out and meet her. we meet in Bucharest. She took a 8 hour train ride from Devia. we stayed at the Marriot in Bucharest. She and her daughter where with me for 10 days. We went bowling,3D movies eating KFC chicken, doing the american thing. Life was good. Then we went to her town. She showed me her apartment and I meet her family. I can say at that point life was great. As a american guy I felt humble to be with her.

Their life style is simple. water bread with butter and some chicken. But what they have I know I wanted. That was love and caring for each other. now to the good stuff. We feel in love. I had to leave and go back to the us.On my 16 hour ride home I decided to make a life change. I stopped my adoption. I got a long stay visa and went back. This is where I am writing this letter today. I live in Sibu. Ok back to the USA I asked her to marry me and she said yes of course. I have set up a home office and continue running my us company from a T1 line, and I have to thank vonage. I have hired an attorney to get me K1 visa for her and her daughter. The visa is approved and we are waiting on the embassy to set a hearing date. we are working on having a baby. this is a great place to do that. missing love go to Sibu. It will make a blind man see. Make an old man young. It must be the water or the air. Life is good. We love each other, her daughter loves me and I love her. I am teaching her great values and she is teaching me romainian. We are the perfect family. I know people will say she will change. But the truth is we all change its the only constant in the world. We both want to be happy and this is what will be.

If you want goodness in your life you have to ask for it. Don’t sit around and expect it to come. Long story short she and her daughter are coming to america with me. And I could not be happier. I tell them all the time don’t for get where you come from. I come from a dirt road in southern North Carolina. But through hard work I have made my life happy and I will never forget how I got here.
p/s I love my new family and it’s just luck they are from Romania. I would love them if they where from the moon.
    Thanks for reading, Roy

    How Romanian women think

  • From an Romanian girl about our life in RO

There is no way generalizations (such as: Romanian women are mean or not/ arrogant or not/ desexualized/ looking after money or not) work. These are not an issue of cultural identity but rather an issue of personality which depend on so many variables: family upbringing, entourage, social class, school education and many other.
The problem with meeting Romanian girls is a problem of adverse selection. Depending where you look for them there are higher chances of finding a certain kind of person. And also probably it depends how you look for them. so I really don’t get the idea about the “test money”.
@Eco: as much as you are right about TV having an influence on people, you are making an exaggeration which tends to be quite offensive as you as simply assuming that all people stop thinking, become mindless and have no real aims in life.

    Kindly,
    A girl from RO

  • @Cineva Romanian girls and money

    Cineva,

There is no test money for me either. I helped the woman i fell in love which happened to be a Romanian like you, but living in Greece because she had no job and no money to raise her 6yo child.

    I gave. She took.

I gave because i loved her. She took because she needed.

I don’t expect back something when i give something. Never.

But i sit in the corner watching what the person i helped will do for her part.

Unfortunately, MY beloved Romanian woman did this: “0″.

There are no generalizations of course. I don’t know if you still leave in Romania or happens that you also moved to another country for a better life.
But, most if the single or divorced women from Romania that live in my country are doing it for money -> only.

I learned that the hard way.
It’s ok to move to another country because poverty troubles you in your birth country, but it’s not ok to fool people just for making your life easier.

Anyway, in my case someone could say that it’s my fault. I should be more careful.

And remember that i hate to generalize. There are simply exceptions to the rule.

As it is very simple to realize that a lot of women that come from Eastern Europe countries with collapsed economy, they simply look for money and nothing else.

I am the first to be sad for this. Believe me.

  • Romanian girl negative on western guys

I know it’s going to sound harsh but why don’t you all (foreigners) mind your own country, your own women and your own problems instead of judging other nations? I read the word “money” related to Romanian women one hundred times at least;why don’t you count the money you spend with your conditionals females?
Why do you make it sound like only Romanian women want money, date for money,do everything for money? Because it’s not true at all. Some do but mostly do not and keep this clear in your mind. The thing is you, foreigners, come in Romania for sensual fun and for free if possible; you hook girls from night clubs, then generalise all Romanian women are this and that;the funny thing is many times you get rejected so you obviously need revenge. You know, I dare to speak in the name of many Romanian women: you ,whatever you are from, stay in your own country, solve the problems you have in there and stop the disliking against east Europe,no one will cry after you especially not Romanians. And say thanks, many thanks to your country leaders for giving you the opportunity to live a careless life, afford travels in poor countries so you can have what to judge after and to be able to spread your arrogance and ignorance shameless all over the internet. You stay there in your richness and us here in our poverty;if you ask an ordinary, honest and hard working Romanian (not a club girl) about me, he will tell you: a big mistake. We became tired of you westerners, we did find out you are not gods, not even close and that the taste of foreign countries is very bitter.Trust me,you have lots of things not to be proud of,in fact the only good thing you have is, the economy ,and this didn’t and doesn’t happen because of you(as individual). So keep your money safe, stay out of Romania, from my point of view(and many others) you are not welcomed anymore .Beautifull girls, material girls, shallow girls are everywhere,no exception,no matter the status, think outside the box.

Ps:Sorry for the eventual mistakes in written and hey the average income in Romania is 300 euro, from where did you get 1000?, would be heaven if so,no girl would want ‘western’ anymore and no one would be disappointed.

    How Romanian women think

    • Romania is a place rich in intellect and beauty

Why so much negativity and anger?

First, I have pretty much only said good things about Romania, including the fact that the girls are not materialistic.
Second, why should Romanians only date Romanians? Peace and love to the whole world we are all God’s children. I mean why should someone from Texas not date someone from Boston for example? Who cares, sure there might be differences in culture but it makes it interesting sometimes.
Third, I think your view of western guys is the one that is negative. For example, I am a western guy that moved to Eastern Europe, learned the language, live here and respect the culture. Many of my friends the same. Sometimes, Eastern guys move west and marry. I know a number of Western girls living in Eastern Europe. Your ideas are very cliche and passe to say the least.
About money in Romania. In a global market place, and the EU is a global market place, you can not expect the government or some big company to provide you a lifestyle, you have to go out there an use your own intellectual capital to generate wealth. This can be done anywhere in the world.

    • Romanian girls come to us

Sorry to break it to you, but its your women coming to us and not wise versa. they are the ones to hunt for western rich guys and all the Romanian women I met are fed up of Romanian guys. We don’t travel to Romania to find the girls, maybe some do but those are anywhere.
I have no disrespect for Romanians in general, cause I think deep down they are nice people in general but in an Era of evil with N.Caucescu and economic suppression and then sudden overwhelming of hollywood screwed up many minds. Western men have become an object to lots of Romanian girls. It’s not about earning 300€ p month. I know cultures very well that have a lesser income and have ten times more value on the soul and purpose of life as opposed to the hundreds of women ive come across from Romania.
It’s not cause its poor or bad and the culture sucks, it has historical meaning to it and of what happened and that the latter capitalistic cocktail to a mentality that is emotionally and ego hurt based was a death certificate to real values.
I’ve been to Romania and to no night clubs, but to celebrate christmas, to hang with friends and get to know the country for someone I really loved at that time and whom I thought she loved me as much. She duped me ! And its something they are raised with, its fact and u know it when taking out your patriotic hurt ego out of the equation.

      • I disagree. Any woman that goes to a guy is not the girl you want. You have to win their hearts. My wife really did not date me for about a year of chasing her. Men need to get the girl. If the girl has interest in the guy, there is a reason. The man has to win the girls heart after she has scorned you many times and for a long time. This is the way nature works.
About Romanian guys not having it, I disagree. Romanian guys, Polish guys etc are fine. It is just that we do not see the good in their own culture. I mean look at me, I am an American guy but complain about American women. I have met scores of good Romanian men.

You can make as much money in any free market country as you have imagination. Do not blaime capitalism for poverty. You can achieve anything you put your mind to.

  • Life is complex and has many facets

Guys, sorry for your bad experiences. I’m a Romanian and all I can say is all the women I met were great – some I managed to seduce, some not, but every one of them was a true lady. In the meantime, a friend of mine always complain about women, how bad they are. Was I so lucky, or he had a terrible bad luck? You complain women want nothing but money from you, we, the natives, complain we haven’t enough money. Where is the truth? Indeed, the poverty makes many man criminals and many women hookers, but, like everywhere, there are good and bad people.

There are so many things to be told about our society, there are so many contradictions that even us, the Romanians, don’t understand what’s happening to us, so how can you, poor foreigners, get it? We are at the confluence between the Eastern and the Western cultures, you can find very spiritual Romanian people, but in the meantime young people are connected in real time to the Western values and trends. We have that bloody gypsy subculture, but also rock concerts, George Enescu festival, movie festivals etc. It may sound confusing – and it is – but, the good side is in Romania there are women for every taste.

I remember a song “I’ve been searching the love in all the wrong places”, so do find some good places, with nice people. The Romanian women are hard to be labeled – some are naughty, many are intellectuals, but most of them value the traditional values – family, faith etc. How to seduce them? I’m a man, what do I know? Romanian women are a mystery and a challenge and I hope they will remain this way. But, I can assure you, in Romania poetry and manners didn’t die.

P.S. I have the same question as the lady before me – where are the 1000 euro payed jobs? I want one :D

  • Romanian earnings and women again

There are no 1000 euro paid jobs in Romania. Let the editor dream on. I’m an experienced computer systems engineer with a BScs degree and Mircosoft certification, and, applied not once for a job i Romania through “western” oriented JobHunter companies which have activities in Romania (their customers are International companies with business in Bucharest and other major cities), and the most i could get from it was 700 eur per month.

I know that the basic salary in Romania doesn’t exceed 300 eur. I have both female and male friends who i talk with right now, not to mention the information i had from my ex Romanian girlfriend.

What is written in this blog, at least concerning the salary options in Romania, is baloney.

I’m from Greece and we really suffering here as well, i believe that we’ll follow the path of the rest Eastern European countries, in favor of “some” people who will be able to establish their business all around eastern-north/eastern europe with really cheap employees.

Either the editor is sleeping in heaven or something else is happening.

I will not get into the Romanian women thing again, What said is enough.

Just a message to the Romanian women posted before you: Lady, I am not rich, I am Greek, I am unemployed, and I spent a huge amount of my lost job compensation for Elena.

The rest it’s up to you to understand what is happening here in Greece with Romanian women.

    Bye and thanks.

    • Romanian economics is the same as the world economy

I respectfully and fully disagree. I have lived in Eastern Europe, not Romania but close for many years. You can make as little or as much as you want. It depends on your world view. If you believe in the old way of thinking, that is you get a degree with a piece of paper from a university and expect a good paying job from a company, dream on. The world does not work like this, at least not in recent history. This is why Greece is in so much trouble. Top down economics, from the government or even from large companies fail. Individuals think someone else will provide them with income.

Economics lesson 101 – No one will give you a job or owes you anything. You have to use your imagination and God-given brain to creative something of value for others. This is the way you serve humanity. This applies to if you live in Romania or America. I have worked in business. No one will pay you more or even equal to what you are worth, your marginal product always is greater than your marginal cost unless you are a thinker and designer and creator and espeically if you are an entrepreur. However, a degree from a university is for your own humanity and self fullfillment in life not for pay. The richest people in the world never finished school.

Every person in the world economy must think like this, that is how can I best serve humanity given my skill set, or find themselves left behind.

Read some Adam Smith or F.A. Hayek or Milton Friedman on economics and how the world works. Stop believing in a 1950s fairy-tale.

And yes in Romania you can make a lot of money just like in Poland or any country. Some of the richest people in the world come poor countries and they were not born with anything but an attitude and understanding of how markets work.
Girls in Romania are good girls. If you find some exceptions that are not this is because there are exceptions everywhere. But I believe in people and live my life by it.

  • Romanian Girls looking for gold that does not glitter

Sotiris, I’ve got one question for you dear. You said in your earlier posts that she had a child, well did you ever thought that she was using you to raise her child, after all the mother instinct is a very strong one.
Having to sacrifice herself for the sake of the child knowing she’ll drain you of your financial resources is not something to be proud of, but still, it’s something to admire in a woman these days. Next time try to think about getting involved with a single mother, cause it’s actually your fault too for not defining boundaries in your relationship.
If any of you ever tries to “hunt” for a nice girl here in RO, never try to find one in expensive places, these “diamonds” never shine out in public. Never try to focus your attention on the ones that pop right in your eyes everywhere you go, they’re 90% plastic.
Think of one that actually has a college degree, a job, a place to stay on her income, someone who has some nice hobbies and does not care for extravagant lifestyles. I know many of these kind of right, smart but also good-looking women and I can tell you that you were not looking in the right place.
If you’ll find something that fits this description, well you’ll pretty much have the life you dreamt of.
All that is gold does not glitter and this is the same for looking for girls.

  • Ideal country to find a girl in the world

I came across this page purely by coincidence and was really surprised at what I read..
First off, I can’t help but smile when I read something like “how to seduce Romanian women, or Dutch women, etc”. I am Romanian, I’ve been living in Ireland for quite some time now, and I’ve met women from pretty much all over Europe, some from Asia, and sadly none from the US. While one can generalise some when talking about dog breeds for instance, or mobile phones etc, I can’t understand how one can generalise when taking about women, regardless where they may be from.
What I’m trying to say is every woman is different, and there’s good and bad everywhere. Whether you’re in Romania, UK, Russia or any other place on Earth, you’ll meet plenty of genuine girls, and also plenty of gold diggers. To come and say that all Romanian girls are after your money and nothing else it’s a bit unfair, don’t you think? Also, about the lad that was complaining about
Romanian women becoming “de-sexualized”, I wonder if he tried getting up at 5 in the morning making breakfast for the kids, dropping them off to school later on, going to work for 9 hours, coming back home and cook and clean and everything else, and yet thought about sex afterwards..
And also for the greek lad that got conned: “Tough luck bud. You’ll do better the next time”.
I’ve had really nice relationships with Irish girls, German girls, Italian & romanian (tried with a greek girl once too but it didn’t happen. I should-be probably googled “how to get a Greek girl” to get some pointers beforehand).
So lads, whether your off to Eastern Europe or Western Europe or Zambia or Afghanistan trying to score and possibly get married, use your heads, cause chances are you’ll come across genuine, beautiful, interesting women as well as gold diggers and con artists everywhere. There’s no ideal country in the world where all women are hot and honest and money pours out of the tap while everyone drives eco cars.
At the end of the day, it`s just a matter of taste.

    How Romanian women think

  • @Romanian Girl.

Well you have a point there…

Yes i thought that she may used me just for raising her child.
And yes you are right…Maybe it’s my fault too that i got involved with a single mother.

I think that you are right about everything you say in your last post above…

I’m just sad that it happened to me…I guess i’m not the first nor the last one though…

You are right, i should have set boundaries to my relationship…

The only thing that i disagree with you is this:

“Having to sacrifice herself for the sake of the child knowing she’ll drain you of your financial resources is not something to be proud of, but still, it’s something to admire in a woman these days.”

I can’t admire that in a woman. I understand the agony of a single mother to raise her child, but “using” people in that way, is not something to be admired…

  • Romanian woman with a Mona Lisa smile

I read these comments for a while by now. To be honest, it makes me smile. Yet, first I want to say congratulations to the owner of this blog, I enjoy reading it.

What I find funny is, so most of the foreigners see us, Romanian women as some sort of monsters that wait in the corner to strike and leave them poor. Am I right, Sotiris dear? Well, guess what s**t happens.

And if you are a big boy, you will live with it. So she played you. What does that have to do with, for example, me? She could have been Russian, American, British or French if she’s a player then she’s a player, it does not matter where she was born. I will not try to defend her, nor the whole Romanian female population.

You know why? Because we know better who we are. And guess what. I am so very proud to be Romanian. I’d never leave this place, I love my country. And yes, it is hard in here, but not impossible. And guess what, most of us could care less about your money. Many foreigners tried to wave their money at me, and guess what, I laugh in their faces. If you, Sotiris dear, tried to buy her, or went all like “uh oh look at me, i have money” then she gave you what you asked for, cause let’s face it, it’s insulting to wave your wallet at a woman. So, you kind of deserved that.
I also find funny how you, the Romanian people writing in here, try to excuse yourselves and all the Romanian population for things that happened and are not for you to control. Why do you try to explain? So some see us as gold diggers. Some of us, actually are gold diggers. Yeah, so? Let them. As I said, we know better who we are, and it’s not like we will not be able to sleep in the night, cause some people we never met think bad about us.
And speaking of gold diggers, lol, trust me, we have rich Romanian guys. That by the way, are hotter. Which is why we don’t really need a foreigner, cause Romanian men are way hotter, smarter, stronger and the list can go on. Or maybe they are not, but we still love them more, cause they are ours.

If we happen to fall in love with some guy from some other country, then that’s different. But no, we don’t “hunt” for foreigners. Because let’s face it. You are not better. I know, I sound harsh. But wake up. Romania is not a hooker bar, so maybe u should open your eyes. And if you feel insecure about Romanians, then why don’t u just date women in your own country, or some other country? Trust me, we will not miss you. Becaue who cares of your absence? We don’t.

I respectfully apologize if I said anything hurtful but, it is a fact. Wish you all a wonderful day.

Warmest regards, Irina (proud to be Romanian).

    How Romanian women think

  • “Most people in Romania make about about 1000 Euro a month.” Maybe 200 Euro a month. With 1000 Euro a month Romania would be Paradise indeed.

    • Looking at the data you are more right than I. http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/city_result.jsp?country=Romania&city=Bucharest&displayCurrency=USD
Net salary in Romania is lets say 530 USD but gross is about 650 USD. But this is an average. Many people have unreported income to avoid taxes. In Eastern Europe this is the way it works. Most people I know are doing something on the side. I find it hard to believe when I see all the nice cars around and people with flats and cell phones that people in reality make that little. Maybe officially, but economic reality is different.

Further, if you can market yourself in the global economy rather than the local economy than you can make as much as you want. As long as you have an Internet connection you get paid what you are worth in the global market place. You can not expect that an employer will hire you and you will make a lot of money and have a career. It does not work like that even in the USA.

  • Going to Romania for a Romanian girl?

I met this Romanian girl online. We both share the same application on our android phones. So, I asked her if I can be her friend. I became friends with her.

This Romanian girl looks so gorgeous that she blew my mind while I saw the picture of her as soon as she accepted me on Facebook.

We didnt talk for few weeks after adding and then I once messaged her she replied and then we started to talk. In between, I went to Singapore for 2 days and she went to Prague with her best friend.

I don’t know since then things between us started to change. I started to tell her on chat what I did the whole day. She liked my lifestyle. I am a person who likes quiet places and i drive a really long way from city life sometimes to feel the nature. So she likes that and she says I want to be a part of your life but I don’t know my role yet.

Things went on and we don’t know if we are dating or what but she says we are dating and now we are having a cyber date on my birthday. She just makes me feel so good. I can say I never felt like this before.

I go to a law school and she knows I don’t work and she talks of me coming to visit her and I said I don’t earn a single coin so I can’t manage to come. She knows my dad is a surgeon, my mom is a top government official and my brother works as an airline pilot and we lives in a same house like a perfect family. She knows all my financial conditions.

But the thing amazed me is that she freaked out on me when I was telling her my financial condition. She said are you thinking that you can get me by doing this financial discussion then that is not gonna happen. She is a god child. She shows me pictures of her daily we talk almost 6 hours a day and she loves to read and she made me read novels now too.

She is a graduate from university of Bucharest. She does tutoring to earn living. We share almost everything in common and since I read not to travel to Romania for a girl who I met online. I read this whole blog and I am scared.

I havent gone to my Facebook since reading this blog and now I won’t till I have someone to respond me. I am so confused with tons of things running in my mind. I don’t say she is bad or what. But I don’t know if this is okay or not. I’m so badly confused and troubled after reading the things you guys wrote. Help me. :’(

    How Romanian women think

    • I have no idea what you are writing about. If you like her and have a rapport with her than you need to have a conversation about all your fears and feelings with her. Then see her reaction. It has nothing to do with Romania or not.

  • Romanian Girls fantasy and reality

I am a Romanian girl I am 16 and I live in a small town in Romania and afer reading this post I have to say that your whole idea on omanian girls is a fantasy.

I am not saying that there aren’t girls like that in Romania but most of them are materialistic because most people in Romania are very poor they don’t earn 1,000 euros per month . And a large part of our population has left RO and gone working all kinds of jobs in other countries in Europe such as Italy (where they think Romanians = gypsy people ) , Spain , Germany and The UK. Therefore parents leave their children in RO because they can’t afford bringing them along and they lose control . There are many types of women in RO , from the materialistic, rude , uncivilised ,low-class to the type of woman you described but mostly they are materialistic and care A LOT about your financial status.

If you are lucky to find a real Romanian woman (how I like to call them) they will be just like described in this post but be aware of the fact that they are very cunning and can fool you into thinking they are something they’re not and by the time you realised that they ‘ll be off to the next one.

    • You are 16 and you go under the assumption that men are not too clever. You see girls behave in a particular way and think they can rope a guy into a relationship which involves a material basis. These girls are so transparent it is comical. Even you can see this, men can smoke these girls even faster. It is like you falling for some tattooed dirty biker guy with a pony tail and no class, this guy is not even on your radar even if you are looking directly at him as he walks by you. And so it is with girls that are materialistic, they are only fooling themselves.
So what you are left with is many beautiful, kind girls in Romania because men do not take the others seriously.

  • Romanian girls - a perspective from a Romanian

Well i came here by making a sily Google search on “Why are ……”
I havent read Everything as theres alot to read, and im unable to respond to everyone. Especially at this hour.
But i Quoted and replyed a few things bellow..

    @admin{
“So if you think you are so cool and flash your cash at a Romanian girl and she will marry you, think again. Romanian girls are not shallow Western girls.”
That depends of the girl, most paesant, uneducated women will beg you to marry them.

“I personally look to Romania to do business as the people there are bright and educated.”

If you have a budget to start from and the business will work you will have luck. Our taxes are very low compared to yours.
But I disagree about the bright and educated.
We’ve got alot of villiges around, and most of them moved to the city, in apartments.
Also a number of unemployed Gypsys who are making our country a bad image and name.

“But some 24 year old Romanian students, for example, might go to Istanbul, Turkey or Dubai UAE to because women lack the self confidence that they can support themselves in other ways for their education.”
That has some truth in it.

“Keep it real and make your words match your ideas and courage, that is if you have any. Do not flash money or impress them with your Resume or nice car or other crude things, this will work with ‘new wave’ girls, but these are not the one you want. You want a beautiful dark, mysterious, humble Romanian women from the countryside with dreams and ideals.”
We’ve got alot of “new wave” girls like you call them. I am still looking for a beautiful dark, mysterious, girl which is not a god worshiper, there arent many in my area and in the places I go to. Like in highschool. I do not want her to be humble ! I want her to have the sam position as i do. No differences. And most of them arent humble at all..

    }

    @Eco{

“1. I could never understand how belief and disbelief can reside in the same person without conflicting.”
So Wrong, We do have that spiritual depth. Yes most are materialistic. And most of them rush like crows when there is some hollyday. They are a gang of idiots that think they are importand when they go to church to socialize.

“I’ve seen this all around. Romanian women just get “desexualized” in a strange way. After marriage, in a few years, most of them forget about being women anymore. Food, kids, money ”
You are sadly right about that. Most Traditional womn are that way.

    }

Also, I fully agree with Anca. Almost every Women is like she described her. if shes Young that dosnt mean shes not right.

You may avoid Romania for the uneducated peoples. But every country has and will have, bad girls, Uneducated people. greedy and so on, Romania is a normal country like any other.

But the country as land is beautiful.

Sorry I couldnt be more clear on this.

    How Romanian women think

    • These are similar criticisms I hear about all countries. For example, people go to church to socialize and show up. This is not true, they are made by 20 something ‘I think I am so clever’ people. I do not know anyone that goes to church to socialize or be seen. Some do socialize as all humans do but that is not the reason people pursue spiritual development.

What is wrong with peasant and uneducated? Some of the brighest and smartest people come from the countryside. I think from the countryside they would have more resistance to material tempations than city girls. I think your cliches are not accurate representations of the real world.

With regards to business, I think cost of labor is low and you can find anyone from manual laborers to computer softwares engerrers. Go to any job recuritment agency and you can find a lot of talent in Romania and it is a good place to start a business.

  • What I meant to say was that old people with no life here. Go to church more because they have nothing to do in their village/apartment. And because they like to praise with that. (going to church and obey god/dumb priests)

Theres nothing wrong in being a peasant, in fact I really like the country life.
But there’s something wrong with the drunks, which beat their wifes after they arrive home for no reason.
We have that here. It is like a Tradition to beat your wife for absolutely no reason. For example, they say there’s dust in a place and start beating the bleep out of them, as they have nothing better to do.
And they (the wifes) don’t feel good till they don’t get a palm on their drunken mugs. I guess you have this in the US also.

Most peasant people don’t even know how to read.

I agree that you can find a lot of talent, and smart people here, in Romania. But there are also a lot of scum people, like in any other country. It’s a good place to start a business, as long as you have a budget and something that wont fail. We’ve had 6 Computer stores in my city, that I am/was aware of. Now, we only have two. The other two. The other 4 got closed up. I remember that my favourite store got closed because they took too much money from the banks and weren’t able to pay back, as this crisis came. They had stores in all the Country.

    • Eastern European business and countryside living

All the countryside peasants I know can read and many are well-educated. Many with Masters and Phds. I live in Eastern Europe. Although I was born in the USA my family is from the countryside in Eastern Europe (Poland and Ukraine) as is my wife’s family. I see kind humble hardworking people.

They go to church because they try to transform their lives. Church is not a gathering place for saints but a hospital for sinners. I do not know why the young generation does not see this, rather they expect the people who go to church to be saints or something.
I do not see it this way. I think we are all imperfect servants of God trying to heal our lives and find our way back home.
I mean with computers and the Web there are much more stimulating ways to spend an hour on Sunday morning. Even the old are online, including my 84-year-old Dad who just got a new Mac. So it does not mean he is bored so he goes to church. He goes because he understands that life as a human is not one dimensional and that to be human like with Maslow hierarchy of needs or Erikson, there are many complexities.

However, in the countryside there are many dogmatic and closed-minded Priests, like there are people like this everywhere. People who are none religious can be this way too. So I do understand your criticisms about this.

If you look up statistics there is heavier drinking in the USA and Western Europe, so clichés about Eastern Europe do not fly with me as I have spent a great deal of my adult life here.

About business in Romania. I guess i would have to need to understand the market. That is why, the computer shops closed? I personally think a lot as to do with globalization. For example, I guy my computer things online, maybe on amazon or at a large store like Saturn. It does not mean demand dried up it means the economy is changing more like the American model. I mean who in American buys a computer from a small shop, everyone goes to Best buy, or online even me.

But there is tremendous opportunity in Romania. Every person that says it will never develop or it is hopeless; are like the people who not long ago use to talk about real estate in Krakow that it was hopeless, and there will be no businesses that would want to do business in such a dark poor place. You could buy a building not long ago for 10 thousand dollars that is now worth almost 10 million dollars today. Some people see the future in business and see solutions. If you are one of these people you can be very rich.
Look at the richest people in the world, they often come from Mexico or India.

I am positive about Romania and about Eastern Europe as I have seen in a few years growth and development that is unmatched in the west. Consumer markets opening up and whenever there is change, even in a crisis there is opportunity.

A crisis just means a reallocation of wealth. Often from the haves to the have nots. Prices of real assets should stop their bubble and even decline and this is a great opportunity for people who want to make money in Romania.

I am also not too worried about banks and governments as I know the most important part of getting rich is human capital. Banks are just a building and money is just paper, but an idea is a gift from above.

I have another website www.political-economy.com if you want to read about how to get rich even if you are poor.

      How Romanian women think

  • Romanian economic and educational life in the village one perspective

Well The US citizens are a bit more advanced than us.
Most of the peasants here, about 80% of them are not as educated. My cousins Grandma cant read. Her sons do tho.. my cousins dad worked on the train as a ticket checker and then on sending packages by train.. her other son idk what he dos.

All she did her entire life was…
Drink lots of hard drinks. A traditional thing we have here named “Tuica” its alike Vodka. Vine, beer, Rum etc etc .. In short shes a drunk. She worked on some farm or whatever it was back then maintained by the government or whatever, and work her land. No time for culture.

    Transform them by what means?
    We both have our opinions.
Sorry to say but you are being silly. Im no servant of anyone. talk for yourself ;)

I dont think that people that go to church are saints. I think they are not smart because they like to be brainwashed by beliving in fairy tails, like that there is a second life waiting for them in Heaven roflmao.. xDD

I have told you the reasons why Most of the un educated old people here go to church. For example there are interviews over youtube, where the old people dont even know who wrote the bible. They are saying that it was wroten by Romanian Poets, like Eminescu etc. All they know is to go to the church because its good and it helps them.

The Shop I buyed my computer from wasnt small at all. They had stores all over the country and they provided good service. I think they invested too much and got with their stuff standing as the crisis came. As most people used to go to cheeper places, or just buy second hand.

With the darn government Romania has I dont know how much we will advance. The imbecils suck everything from this country. They sold Everything. Lots of factory’s etc.

We are importing everything now. We eat from Countrys like Greece, Spain, Turkey, China and so on, and what our villagers produce gets rotten and thrown away.

Like the Sheep skin, the shepherds burn it as they receive ridiculous ammounts on money on them. They dont even get the money that they pay for the road to transport the skins.

Thanks for the site, but im not really a reading person.
Nice domain by the way, you were lucky to get it. would have been nicer if you could get the one without the middle line tho :)

  • Might I ask Why did you change my nickname and added that title to my previous post?

If you think im wrong in all that, then I invite you to our villiges.

    • Sorry I changed it I try to strike any words that are connected to violence as it is I am a peace and love guy.

I was in the village for the last several days and it is a magical paradise. I would like to post some photos once I get my computer back for repairs from the Czech republic.

I mean we live in the EU people complain but I see them in the countryside owning homes and cars debt free without medical bills like in the USA (2,000 dollars a month to insurance a family) without college bills (25,000 dollars a year for one year of school) etc. My brother in law is 32 and has two cars and a 200 meter new house with land and zero debt in the ‘poorest part of Poland’. He can retire at 35 as he is in the army.

I mean yes poor eastern Europeans, right, I do not believe it.

  • “I was in the village for the last several days and it is a magical paradise. I would like to post some photos once I get my computer back for repairs from the Czech republic.”
I agree that it is nice in villiges. But most of the villiges we are having here are full of drunks that dont even know how to read.

I may like seeing them. Or not.. i like nice places, but i better avoid seeing them if i cant see them for real.

The city i live and i was borned was made in 1883. The population is of the old peasants. Some advanced. Some remained at their level of culture. Well that always happens..
Also 80% of the villages here dont have a hospital.

  • Thoughts from a Romanian girl about my Romania from abroad

Well, I’ve been raise to respect the man near to me, to love him, to take care him more than myself, to offer all what I have the best inside me.

And to always be honest, with a good and healthy mind. Life took me far away of my Romanian country, and of course I find myself trying to have other nationality boy-friends,and here the real challenge start. I find, No system of value,no faith, no nothing.

I was shocked to see all what is matter for them is to drink, smoke/take drugs and make how much intimacy as possible with how many partners, sad to say the least.

I was thinking is something wrong with me or maybe with the first boy-friend which i had it but i tried 4 and all same, I DO NOT generalize and i still like to believed are also existing the good ones and respectful to the woman next to them.

Not mention how bad they are treating by their own woman and how surprise they was to be treated good.

Is still a paradox for me? I know something for sure. I will never ever in my life will let a man to treat me so disrespectful, my Romanian culture dont let me, my good education received from my parents again dont let me, and specially the 30 years of marriage of my parents living in respect and love. I’m proud as i’m a Romanian girl.

  • Dating and relationships and culture in Romania

I read most of the comments above and my point of view is somewhere in the middle.
I`m Romanian,I`m 25 and I live in Bucharest. My parents brought me up to be a humble, respectful human being but this is not the case of the majority of the Romanians(my age or even older).I always say that if I get the chance to travel abroad, work there and then bring my family there, then that would be a dream come true.
Most of the people in my country are selfish, materialistic, rude, mean and superficial.I would like to meet people who are more open-minded,more sensitive, serious and civilized.
The girls/women here…well I have to admit that they are superficial and they want to have a lot of money so they can buy clothes,shoes,jewellery,make-up and show off.I myself am interested in all beauty related because I like being chic and feminine but that is not my priority in life.
I met my boyfriend 5 years ago and although he is not rich I accepted him and learnt to appreciate him for what he is.He is 26 now,has a modest car (but he didn`t have one when we met),a Dacia Supernova,he works and he tries to make money from other activities such as homemade decorations and so on.
We moved together when my parents sold their house and bought a house near Bucharest. It has been 2 years now and we are trying to get along although it is hard when you`re sharing the house with some one else,in this case, his parents.
What I`m trying to say is that some people here are so kind, warm, loving and spiritual but most of them are not this way.It hurts me to say this but Romanians are not my kind of people.I prefer strangers because of their way of thinking and acting (not the ones who party all the time or who are really superficial and snob).
Anyway,I believe that there are still good people in any country, any corner of this universe, all we have to do is open our eyes, open our hearts and choose.

  • Well, I think cultural background is important, also when it comes to compatibility. Romanian women seem a little fade to me, they do not really strive a lot to keep your attention constant and their sense of humour is not very well-developed. 70%-80% of them seem more like wax statues to me or like soap opera chicks than like real-living beings. I can tell you one thing – I could approach a Chinese woman or even a West-European one much more easily than a Romanian girl. Because I think my style goes better for these women than for the Romanian ones – e.g. a prompt approach goes well with Chinese girls and being degage and making jokes can go well with West-European women.

I never really talked about literature and grammar with any Romanian woman except for my faculty mates – she might have thought I am a really big no nothing.

    • Romania - what are Romanians doing?

I am a little worried about how foreigners are looking at Romanaians as people, and at Romanian as nation.

What Mihai said in his comment “Partially true, partially false – Romania” is right 100%, and I could say about Ela’s comment “Dating and relationships and culture in Romania” just about 75% true.

So far, I’ve been living in New York for 25 years. It does not mean anything, because my heart still beats for my Romania. Ela, from my experience in a foreign country, I could tell you that nobody gives a deuce about you, and especially on Romanians, or Romanian women. Romanian women here are very materialistic, they are not considered attractive, they think they are “hot shots” and so on. The gentleman who said he’d rather date Chinese girls is right. Chinese are respecting thier men, expecially if they are dating gringos. Romanian girls do not like to work, they have no personality, they are fade and have a tendecy not to care about their partner.

Romanian, as nation is viewed more like something from far East, nobody knows anything except Dracula, Nadia Comaneci and Ceausescu. And why? Because we do not strive for ourselves, we are not helping each other, we are not hard workers (not individually, but to be known as a striving nation, or a hard working nation). Everybody knows that Mexicans, Chinese are hard workers, Jews are helping each other. What are Romanians doing? They gossip on each other, they cheat, and they are prejudiced. They call each other names, they are not polite, they do not respect each other as a nation. That’s why we will never be strong, and our women never be looked like “WOW” because they are lacking the “inner beauty”.

      • Look your from NYC then you must know that people use to say the exact same things about New Yorkers, what you say about Romanians, that is they are, rude and out for themselves. However, the truth is NYC prospered and so is Romania. You have to understand that Romanian social problems have nothing to do with the nature of the Romanian people nor the Romanian girls, but rather the fact that Eastern Europe after the destruction of WWII was placed under a 50 year veil of communism that profoundly changed the nature of the society. When the chains were lifted and capitalism replaced it, it was a game of musical chairs and many people scrambled to find their place.

It is a symptom of post communist countries, but not about the people who live in these countries. It is easy to criticize but to understand is better.

The good news is Romanian people largely have not been corrupted the way you describe. It is similar in Poland. Sure people in Warsaw are rude many times or any big business city, but the country side people retain their values. I married a girl from the Eastern European countryside and she is sincere and with integrity like I have never meet in my life.

I recommend that guys looking for true love look for diamonds in the rough.

  • Partially true, partially false - Romania

My friend, where do you live in Romania exactly? The average salary is not 1000 euro, but 2-300. The economy is not rising. Actually after the death of Ceausescu it started falling down like a rock.Ask anybody that lived in communism about this and they will confirm it was better before. Second, the Roman Empire occupied only 14% of Dacia (ancient Romania) so we`re not Romans, our real ancestors are the Dacians

  • Romanian girl on Romanian average income could be 1000 Euros

Stop dreaming, ”most Romanians make about 1000 Euros a month”
The Romanian average income is 200 euros, I am a Romanian girl myself

    • Make money as a girl in Romania

Elena, I am not Romanian but live in Poland and the economy is not too different. Averages are not real because there is a large black market economy in Eastern Europe. Everyone I know is making money under the table to avoid taxes and corrupt government. Further, many farmers have low-income on the books and get EU grants but when you drive though the countryside there are 30 year olds with nice houses. Averages and statistics are not real. If you are a professional and work in the city, you can make a lot more than 1000 Euros a month.

Further, many Romanians take their EU passport and work abroad for a few months then return home with cash in their pocket and after a few years have a house. In contrast someone in the USA must pay off student loans until age 35 then their mortgage until 65.

In Eastern Europe people do not have 100,000 dollars in student loans and often get grandpa’s apartment. They get fresh farm raise food from the countryside and then any money they make goes to a flat. It is hard to compare based on dollars alone. For sure Romania is not as rich as London but it is not India poor.

With an EU passport in hand and an understanding of the way the global economy works, there is no reason you can not get rich living in Romania and 1,000 Euros is not a lot of money to dream of to make a month if you want to.

Why do you know study IT and outsource or freelance your skills to UK companies?

A lot of Romanian students, and Romanian girls think just because they have a university degree they should make a lot of money. Wrong. Read about economics.

Here is how a Romanian girl can make money. The market will pay you what your marginal product is. Where marginal product equals marginal cost then this is your price or wage for work.

If you are working girl in Romania working at a factory or shop with unskilled labor your wages will be low. That is universal all over the world.

But if you can create or design something of value to others than you wage will be higher. Create something beautiful or useful and the market will pay you.

Value is determined subjectively and this includes wages. If you think you can put your CV online and waiting for someone call you on your mobile phone, you girl need to change your economic view of the world. No employer is going to call a girl in Romania on her cell phone and offer her a nice job.

You need to go out and identify the need of business and create value according to that, they you will make a good respectable salary.

      How Romanian women think

  • Economics of Romanian women

“The past communist dictator of the country destroyed the economy of Romania. It was a poor country but is now raising from nothing. Romanian economy is quite good now, with textiles and IT leading the charge. I personally look to Romania to do business as the people there are bright and educated.”

I must say that the past “communist dictator” (not really) did not destroy the economy of Romania, but really, the new government has destroyed it with their corruption of corporate greed. And Romania was actually a very rich country but now all the factories that produce these goods are owned by Russians, Bulgarians, Hungarians etc. because the government has sold them. Before, Romania owned everything they produced for themselves, as well as gas, electricity ect.
