I am from the west, I do not know if I could say if people think so deeply about faith, life and the seriousness of relationships. In the west people treat marriage like a relationship that can be broken. In Romania it is more a sacred covenant you swear on the altar to God.
- A – Authentic – Life here has a rustic feel. It is real, not plastic, but at times spartan. Economics plays a big role in life here.
- N – Net, Romanians in dating age demographics use the web. As a percentage compared to other countries they are an average European country, but when you are talking about students, then Romanians are plugged in and this trend is not going away. Again I think it is a function of economics. I mean if you are living in a 50 meter flat in Iași or Cluj-Napoca what else are you going to do when the rest of your disposable income is paying off your highly inflated apartment. I think many young Romanians are borderline Internet addicts. I mean so am I, but this just tell you I guess you can meet Romanian girls online, I think FB has 3.5 million profiles for example.
- I - Imaginative – I do not know why but in Eastern Europe, I have found a disproportional number of hot chicks that are into science fiction and fantasy and creative arts. Much more so than in the West. I mean you have girls that look like Romanian models Alina Puscau or Ana Ularu but wear glasses and read imaginative literature on a park bench or a tram. I think it has to do with the weather or the harder economic conditions that make people more escapist.

I believe in the proverb ‘so as within, so is without’. That is, what you have going on in your inner life will eventually reflect your outer beauty. The majority of Romanian girls are still pretty humble, loyal, devout, educated good girls. If you want to find a date and have had no luck at home because you feel your value system or your sense of ideals about love and romance are from another century, consider Romania. You do not need a time machine to date a princess, just a plane ticket.

Origins of Romanian girls
Romanian girls are an odd lot. They are actually ancient people’s influence by Romans culture as manifest by their language. However, their ethnicity is a mix of peoples whose names are not household words to most Westerners. The Roman province of Dacia was cut off during the collapse of the empire and some of the descendants lived in Slavic Eastern Europe along with indigenous people. In Romania there is also a large gypsy population (Indian origin) and even some Turkish, Hungarian and Tartar (all Asian). However, Slavic people are mixed of course. This is why Romanian girls are so beautiful. They are Latin, Slavic, Ancient Greek, Eastern and mixed with their Dacians and Illyrians base. They are a little bit something exotic, ancient and untamed.

Romania and it's impact on me
Around ten years ago I was sent to Romania to set up a contract for my company, based in Bucharest I however worked in a place called Movalita. During many visits I gained the confidence on many people and became very good friends will all (both genders).
I have read many comments on here and one that caught my attention was about 60 percent only wanting your money! In my personal experience I found the complete opposite, in fact a group of over worked and under paid staff took us out for a meal ( their way of saying thanks for being nice I guess, and there were four of us) they clubbed together to pay for the meal and naughty we kept ordering wine and more wine to make the bill expensive and see their reaction, it was amazing and absolutely wonderful to find that level of sincerity, we were never going to allow them to pay but it was a gauge to these people’s generosity.
Following this I knew of the morals that are in abundance within this nations people men and woman, and it there after became my favourite country. Now why then am I messaging you now after ten years, it is simple, I now work in the middle east and want to get pen pals from Romania but I will not go onto the bad sites to do so, I just want to reconnect with genuine Romanians, can you advise me of places to search, to find pen pals etc?

Romania is a beautiful country. It has everything from an ideal climate, mountains and beautiful warm seas. It has natural farming and beautiful villages. The people have a great history, generally good morals and are generally more educated than most. It is an EU country with a lot of potential. The only major issue with Romania is the economy. The wages are not up to par with what they should be based on people’s skills and talents. However, all good things in this world can not be measured by money. So maybe I generalize but every thought is an abstraction by definition. For example, if you say ‘the sky is blue’. Yes it is true, but sometimes it is red or different colors. But basically the sky is blue. So I say positive things about Romania and Romanian girls. It is the way I see it.
I came here to this site to find information about the Romanian culture and values, as I intend to visit Constanta this month to meet a Romanian Lady whom i have been speaking with for some time now. One cannot know across the internet if their will be chemistry and the meeting will spell this out. I want to make my comment though about this Romanian Ladies looks and personality which I have seen so far.
Firstly her looks- she is very beautiful and has eyes like i have never seen before yes she is stunningly beautiful. She is always laughing as we chat on the cam and has a deep sense of moral value which i respect very much.She works as an accountant and comes from a normal working class family background as i do.
I have some experience of Romanian people as i am a tutor and have taught three Romanian guys in the UK. The Romanian guys have all showed me more kindness and respect than i have experienced from UK citizen whom I have taught. My experiences of Romanian people thus far has all been so positive. This is obviously just my own experience.
No problem with Romanians if you leap with your head as well as your heart. Most are decent good people, and treat people with respect and deserve respect. Unless you go for a girl that is sporting a fake tan and a mini skirt or not cultured or not religious, I can not imagine you could go too wrong in Romania. Many nice girls there.

Hi. Appears we’re in the same boat, so to speak. I too have met a girl from Romania, Bucureşti to be exact. We’ve known each other for just over 2 years now and we’ve gotten fairly close. Well, as close as you can get video-chatting from thousands of miles away.

I’m Czech and I always though that Czech and Slovak girls are the most beautiful..but you guess what: my GF is Romanian, we are actually living in Czech together, she is greatest love of my life. It depends on what standard of life you expect and where you live and what you study. But lets take for example a university in anytown Romania living in the student dorms. You can pay 3000 dollars for living a very basic student life of noodles and shared room and 3000 dollars for education. I think a better life would be about 10,000 dollars a year. That is my guess, but if anyone one knows better please reply.
In the UK that is tution alone, than board is much more expensive.
Cost of Romanian education
University here is really cheap not even close to $10,000, it’s about 2,000 euros per year but if u are very smart you can get it free so yeah and about the girls who want just the money,it’s kinda true there are a lot of girls of that kind but hey u can also find good and smart girls, you have to be able to read behind the appearences anyway if u wanna visit Romania I strongly reccomend visiting Timisoara the most beautifoul city in Romania, the most civilized people and a lot of hot chicks.

First of all, I totally doubt you went down to the historical center of Bucharest and tired your neck turning right to left, since a simple normal walk on those parts would require a stiff neck, looking face down to make sure you don’t break your legs (since you needed them to continue your journey, come back and report). Leaving that aside you don’t wanna speak in general terms on that subject, unless you really hope to get popular or hooked-up as you advice others on the basis of this “writing” of yours. Many men have tried to make debates on this subject, the smart ones remained silent and just enjoyed the view (no matter what country offered it). You seem like a nice guy, you just need to show some more life-experience (and not the kind you find in bars and on your Facebook profile). Not saying you don’t have it.
And now to answer your doubts about school taxes, you can’t throw in some numbers and compare tuition in Romania with other countries unless you compare level of training, equipments, research resources, the quality of the educational system, and of course level of income which makes purchase power of a population for services such as education. I get this attitude everywhere I have been in the world. It is a local who does not see the beauty of their own country. Romania is economically not super rich but I think it would surprise you that if you aggregate the average income of the worlds per capita income based on PPP, the EU country of Romania’s population is in the top 90% of earners. Yep, if you compare the billion plus in India and billion plus in China and the slums of South America and the deserts of Africa, etc; EU Romania is a rich country and the education might not include flowers on the class room walls but most Americans, in rich America do not have a University education. Only 11% do in fact as it is too expensive to get a Masters. While in Romania the population is fairly educated on a whole. In terms of economic wealth, I actually think Romania is in the top 99% but have to check this. I know the economy is hard there but come on, this is the EU you can work in Norway for a few years and come back and build a house in cash. The landscape is beautiful also.
So give something back to your country, if not in terms of creativity production, positive energy.

About the educational system in Romania
Indeed, being a student in Romania is cheaper than in other European countries. I would say you would pay like 1000 dollars per year for you studies. As for living here, you can manage if you have about 300-400 dollars per month.
The normal fee is like 2000-3000 RON, that is about 460-690 EUR / year.
I don’t know if foreigners have some reduction or overtaxed. You will have to contact the university you want to go to.

To be fair honest guys. Romanian girls are not that beautiful, not anymore. They´ve changed dramatically past years. They used to dress well, with high-heels, and everything. Now? Messed up.
How do they dress now and is this from a guys or girls perspective? I mean frankly girls thinking dressing in high-heels is attractive, but for me as a guy it looks painful. I would prefer a girl in jeans and t-shirt but with some nice accents to style.
Romanian girls are not that beautiful in the post communist world
I´m speaking from a guy’s perspective, born in Romania. Witnessing reality and how things have changed. The state of conditions that Romanian girls used to live in was more in a healthy environment.
Liberty expression was engraved on our foreheads. Romanian girls had a feature expression that was unique, voluptuous, and beautiful symmetrical facial structure. They were equally beautiful like their neighbours, Ukraine and Hungary. However, something have changed dramatically past recent years. Something changed in their ethnically in their profile.
Romanian girls are not that beautiful, to be fair honest, the vast majority of them are ugly.
I visited the country, Bucharest last year. Indeed, how not attractive I found Romanian girls to be. For example, during the communist years, and the first 15 years after, I´d never witnessed a Romanian girl with pimples on her face. But now? It was like from above the cosmos they were hit them with an organic explosion of alien ant farms.
It become almost ridiculous. If the vast majority of Romanian girls used to dress well, with high heels. Now? A wardrobe disaster among juvenile.
And not mention obesity is ramped in this part of Eastern Europe. It freaked me out to see how many young Romanian women were overweight. It´s not even funny anymore. Not only for beauty but for health reasons and self esteem.
I can not deny the fact, that there´s still beautiful ladies in Romania, which a logical reason of course, like the rest of world. But the amount of beauty, amount of beautiful girls tumbles dramatically.
That is the reality my American friend. We had once great girls like in Ukraine. But not anymore. not anymore.
Romania's fashion and health cycle
Romania is going through changes. Fast food is replacing a traditional diet and cars are replacing legs as a means of transport. This is westernization. It is not that bad in Poland where I live, but I am sorry to hear in Romania is has taken a more radical turn.
But first look at this like capitalism 2.0. First, every one enjoys the fruits of their new-found freedom and wealth. second, they take it too far and get fat and lazy and with small disposable income take the lowest common denominator in terms of fashion. Then lastly the fashion cycle swings back, they use their money to join gyms, buy nice clothes and take trips to exotic countries and educate their minds. I believe in the good people of Romania and they will eventually take the high ground.
However, maybe you have a negative filter as your expectations were so high being a native Romanian. Further, even if society has taken a decline in terms of fashion and elegance, relative to the west like the UK and USA I think they are still more my style.
Look Romanians are like the Italians of Eastern Europe. Once money starts to flow into Romania girls will pay more attention to fashion again and they will adopt the new Romanian diet which will be like American and British girls who shop at Whole Foods supermarket and do yoga. That is Romania is in a temporary time of transition and I believe that even negatives, I still see the positives and it is worth to find a diamond in the rough.

I’m from America and I think that the Romanian girls are the most beautiful girls from the world. They are not ugly. I was in many countries, but I had never seen such curves and shapes like in Romania. My dream is to live with a girl from Romania. In what concerns language that are known by Romanian girls, English is not always known, not even by girls under 30. You might get a “yes” or a “no” from them, but many won’t know much. True, younger generations are more experienced with English. And Russian… I’m Romanian and I frankly don’t know anyone who speaks Russian in here.

I am from Portugal and we have lots of immigration from that country’s like Hungry, Romania, Slovenia, Ukraine, etc. One thing I notice on the Eastern European women, they are always with the body chapped and pale skin( its normal because they are from cold country’s), also they are cute, but never have large breast’s, normally they have small ones always, is very rare to see an Eastern European woman with big breast’s.
In Portugal like Spain, we are Latin and our women have big breast’s is fairly normal here, here you even see skinny girl’s with big natural breast’s It’s crazy. But the Latin girls are very modern and they have big ‘independent’ thinking, Portugal is a hot country and the people here take care about body a lot, and our women are hot.
But our women are so modern, they are always jumping the relationships on relationships, the marriage here normally don’t last long, and we have one of the most divorce percentage in Europe. In this country’s like mine we are used to all kind of people because of the high rate of immigration and tourism (every single year).
And in my modest opinion if I need to choose to have a serious relationship, I choose the an Eastern European woman, for the reasons you mention on your page, my opinions are exactly like yours mostly. The women from Eastern European country’s have the thinking of “take of the family”, treat the husband good, have kids and take care of them, make the house peaceful and stable, etc.
Do not get me wrong I don’t want any slave in my house, of course I will help her with everything, but the fact is the girls in the most modern country’s in Europe, like Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, UK, Luxemburg, etc. Don’t have that thinking and most of them can’t even do a simple thing like cook and washing clothes in my age,and I am in twenty’s, is ridiculous.

I agree with you, it would be a hard argument to say that Latin women are not attractive. Portuguese and Spanish women are. However, they seem to socially be going the way of Western Europe. That is they have given up the ideal of being a strong woman who stands by their man and has replaced it with modern thinking that being in a normal healthy relationship is a sign of submission or something. However, South American girls are not like this, mind you.
Romanian girls are actually Latin girls too. They are as Latin as Portuguese and Spanish women as they were once the Roman province of Dacia as your country was Lusitania in the Roman times. Portuguese like Romanian is a modern derivative of Latin of course with other things mixed in. So culturally an ethically you are not too far from Romanian. It is only the influence of modern thinking that has changed the women.
I think your English is fine however, you mixed up Eastern and Western Europe which I corrected.
Romanians are not Latin people
Romanians are not Latin, Golly, I’m so tired to hear that. The term Latin refers to a language, not a race or ethnicity. In case you didn’t know the Romans colonized England for example for 600 years. In Romania the so-called roman conquest lasted about 140 years.The people who spoked Latin were the Thracians that are originally the “parents”of Europe. Our language was not influenced in any way by the Romans, our language is about 4000 years old. Romanians are Dacians, Slavs,Tatars.They look like eastern europeans.I have seen every possible nation of the world, I know what am saying. Italians and Spanish people are so dark-skinned because they mixed for centuries with Arabs and Africans. I can spot an Italian from a mile away.
Romainian is not Latin only
You should read more . Maybe you will discover that Romanian language formed by Dacian and latin. Our basic words are latin, paine, carne , apa ,casa, barca, and so on.Have you ever heard about Romanian etnogeneza ?
Romanian is based on Latin like many languages
Italian-American linguist Mario Pei in 1949 did a study on the Romanian language that is classic. Romanian is like all languages including English or French, that is a hybrid of ancient languages. However, that being said it is classified as Romantic. It is a Romantic language that is:
77% similar to Italian in terms of lexicon similarity. For me that is a strong correlation.
You can look up that study yourself. It does not mean Romanian is a subset of Italian or Italian is a subset of Romanian. They are both strongly influenced by Latin in grammar, vocabulary and are modern-day derivatives of this language with root vocabulary coming from ancient languages as you pointed out.
It retains many Latin cases or remnants of it. It does have Dacian influence of course as Romanians are partly Dacian. I am not an expert on your country but I think it would be a hard argument to see the similarities between Latin, Italian and Romanian.
Similarly English has the core vocabulary (mostly concrete nouns) from ancient Norse or old English. Words like ‘oak’, ‘axe’, ‘egg’, ‘window’ are viking in origin. However, language is an abstraction and we do not use those words in everyday conversation as much as ‘communicate’ or ‘agree’ for example which are Latin in origin.
So you have a point, to an extent, but think about how many abstract words you use in a sentence compared to concrete nouns.
Now I am a universalist in the sense I realize that although Europeans have their own genetic pools and culture we are almost all from the same Indo-European root wave of migration that came out of Africa. So what does it matter that one person is Romanian and another Greek. We are all from all one from the same source divided by about ten thousand years of history . And all people of this world all are children of the same God anyway. So if I am taking a stand on the origin of a language or people please do not be offended. Further, I might be wrong. I just see a close similarity between Latin, Italian and Romanian.
I am an American by birth so I maybe am too optimistic and too egar to build bridges between cultures than exist in reality as in the USA everyone is from somewhere else and our root ethnicity and language is replaced by the pax lingua of the day. Today it is English tomorrow maybe Spanish. But if you can educate me more on this, I would be open to hear your counter argument elaborated.
This is a positive thing actually as I think Romanians and Italians make good trading partners because of the similarity in language. It turns Romania away from the East (Russia) and to the West (EU).
I have also noted most Romanians are unsually good with languages, speaking like Romanian, Italian, French and English of course in mayb cases.

Finally, somebody here who knows. It is true, the Thracians, our forfathers, where also the forefathers of Europe. The people who lived in what today is called Romania, where truly ancient, even older than modern history wants or is able to admit.

The state called Dacia was very hard to conquers. The Romans where very afraid of us. Few people know that, in order to conquer Dacia, The Roman Empire had to withdraw their forces from England. That is when the British managed to break free from the Romans.
Too bad, most of us Roumanians don’t know who we wore, and still don’t understand who we are.
I would honestly second-guess the fact that Roumania is “like any other country”… It is in terms of human life and society. But spiritually… There are sooooo many things that WORLD owes to this place.
But keep faith. As our national anthems states (says), we will wake up and come back to life. And the life will be once again.

First of all, I want to reply to the woman living abroad who said Romanians are 1/2 Germans. That’s a huge disinformation, it’s like saying Russians are 1/2 English etc. Totally random. Ofcourse there’s a small percentage of German heritage, but probably not more than in Hungary, for example.
I’m a half Romanian, half Hungarian man, born and living in Romania in the region of Transilvania. I want to say that the real border in Romania is the Carpathian Mountains, that differentiate among the people. In your essay, you spoke about the girls from Bucarest, that is Southern Romania. The girls from Transilvania and Moldova are not at all the same as those from the South. I would estimate that those Romanians in the North that are not ethnics (like Hungarians, Gypsys or very few Germans) are actually 80% or more slavic heritage. I live 150km (almost 100 miles) below the Ukrainian border, and even here people are so alike the Ukrainians. Just like any other slavic people, they are just a bit less sharp and just a bit less clean. Don’t get me wrong, that compared to super-duper people like Dutch or Swedes. But they are so much more heartful and soulful, something that the cold Western people lack. More over, I’ve been to Holland and Germany and I’ve seen far less beautiful woman on the streets than here. So who’s catching who?
Back to you praising the girls from Bucarest, I must say I pity you. You ain’t see nothing yet of Romania and it’s beautiful girls.
Maybe it’s your taste, but personally I’m not into dark skinned dark haired woman so much. The general perception of us Northern Romanians about the Southern Romanians is quite bad: they are superficial, don’t like to work, very dirty, scums, cheaters etc.
Both men and women seem to talk fast and high pitched, compared to us.
We say that they are mixed with gypsies more than with anything else. The book says that we are all descendants of Daco-Romans, but the discrepancies as you cross the mountains, are quite steep.

I’m a girl from Romania
and I must say some of you have the wrong impression about Romanian people and the country.
It’s true we have some economic difficulties, BUT considering other countries in the world(Africa or Asia) you cannot compare. Some travelers came here and they thought we didn’t had toilets:)). Common, we are pretty developed…we all have apartments, houses and lands that we own, are not borrowed…we have good cars, highways, malls, universities, well equipped hospital and so on and Roumania’s public dept is not as large as other European countries such as Greece, Ireland, Italy etc.
What is very important is that we have great mountains, sea and the Danube Delta (which is unique in the world in different ways) with astonishing landscapes.
And now about the girls, it’s true that they are good looking, but I’m not sure about that, I find other European girls more beautiful then roumanians…maybe becouse I’m a girl and I don’t know how to apreciate…but I must admit plenty of them are good-looking. Unfortunately, teenage girls now don’t look good at all…they are fast food generation, are small and fat…but the student girls are pretty good-looking, medium height, well-shaped (we had sport and dance classes in school), mostly have brown hair and many blue/green eyes-especially those in the west/north/east, those in the south have a more Turkish look.
You can always come visit and I’m sure you’ll feel good and will live with a good impression.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I will start with that simply because you can not meet three guys that will agree on the same qualities and defects on a woman.
Romanian girls, from the personality point of view, as most post communist people already know, like to have fun and learn stuff and do something with their lives. It is only natural to give in to all the possibilities. The only problem is that the boundaries between fun and peril are unclear, for the time being. I am sure that this will change in time.
Fashion wise, Romanian girls like to be trendy. This is about style of clothes jewlary, hair style and accecories, nothing like the west. Only not all the trends are inspiring and most girls do not dress in a fashion house, but from the mall/supermarket. Thus they mostly dress in whatever is imported from China that year, to be completely honest. This is the reality of many European and Eastern European countries, that is Paris sets the general trend but China mass produces the clothes and it changes fast.
As for women that are out there for money and wealth and income in Eastern Europe, honestly, aren’t we all? I for one have a very good job and I still went for the guy with a similar or better situation. It’s only natural to want to have stability and to be able to put some money aside for a vacation, for your kids, for their studies and so on. I would definitely say that Romanian women are practical rather than just greedy.
Last but not least, anatomically, McDonald’s and KFC are thought of something like a fine dining here, it is American or western based and it is different from humble traditional Romanian cooking. It is good, it is fast, it is convient and it is trendy. Of course, No one likes the extra weight and I know a few gist that go on diets or even had gastric bypass. TaeBo, pilates, yoga and fitness rooms are filled all the time, so no, Romanian girls will never be obese. Just with a little more meat on the bone

Been to Romania and I love it
I’ve been to Bucharest Romania 4 times. The women are the pretties in the world in my opinion. I spent Easter there this year 2011 and have to say it was the best time of my life. My experiences there all 4 times were nothing less than incredible. Yes, every culture and society has an element of less than desirable, however, being from a large US city I have to say life in Bucharest was much safer while I was there. I was able to sit in the park at 3 am in the morning and not have to worry if I was going to get mugged,etc. The food, women, and people there are just absolutely wonderful. I go there alone and not once did I feel out of place. A lot of Romanians are well versed in English so language was never an issue. I highly recommend that if you have never been there, take a trip and live among the Romanian people like I did not some tourist guided trip. You will love it. Don’t forget to have eat some Sarmale and Ardei with some Red Wine and ghee it was delicious.

I think there is a big difference in Culture, Bulgarians are more laid back as it is more a southern country and Romanians are charging ahead trying to develop economically. Romania is Latin and Bulgaria is Slavic and a vacation spot for many Europeans because of the warm beaches. But Romania seems richer to me.

I want to thank the author of this article, I think what you wrote here is true, plus you know a lot about our country and culture. As a Romanian girl who has travelled a lot in Europe, I can say that what I like about us is that we are not hypocrites and generally we have strong moral values. I’ve noticed that uneducated people (from Europe especially) have a misconception about Eastern European girls, but honestly as a young girl in Romania I never met other girls that had one night stands for example, whereas in France or England I’ve seen many girls that get drunk or smashed by drugs and sleep with the first guy that show some interest in them. I think we are pretty down to earth, honest and serious if we meet someone trustworthy.

I am an average guy from a medium-sized city in Moldova , studied and live in Bucharest and I can honestly can say that I never met a down to earth guy that didn’t appreciate our women.
Very traditional in values with very strong personalities. They are so much fun.
They are truly beautiful and mostly down to earth. Although in fashion they lack the style. Of course this applies mostly in smaller cities(>top 10). Sad to admit men are probably worse.

I had my part of fun reading the article and the comments. Romanian girls are beautiful and thee are too many foreigners ready to discredit their appearance. Compared to other nations, Romania has beautiful women. You can never compare an Ukainian to a Romanian. We have different features, we aren’t copies of the same face like the Russians, Chinese or Ukrainians. OMG, where do I start, Your article made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside:). Just like your Jesus quote before, I have to say that I didn’t really appreciate our girls and our country until I left and travelled all over the world. I would say you’re pretty spot on when it comes 2 Romanian women, there’s some fascination that especially white, western guys have for our girls. What I do know it’s basically that you, as a foreign husband of a Romanian wife, will remain foreign, will not quite be “one of the guys” in her family, might happen in other cultures, not sure why.
And to reply to the portuguese guy who was referring to latin women as having bigger breasts, well, he should consider that Romania or other eastern european countries lived under communism for decades, with no access to hormone enriched, genetically modified food. Simple opinion about Romanian dating
Personally – I’d love to meet Romanian women – I think they are stunning. But women are woman no matter where in the world they come from. Every person wanting a better life doesn’t make them an opportunist.
Personally I would love to travel and see the world including Romania, Venice etc – the places are amazing – but because of economic conditions and finances – that makes it impossible – but doesn’t mean that one shouldn’t dream.
I would give anything to meet a woman that would he happy sharing a sandwich sitting on the beach and or simply putting the music loud and dancing like a nut in the lounge. I adore you, it’s completely true! Why should we be offended by silly ugly and chunky American and West European people? Your women usually become pregnant at 13-14 years and don’t know anything about love loyalty and even cooking!. Romania - An American in Romania
As an American, presently in Bucuresti, visiting my Romanian Girlfriend, I can attest to the beauty of this amazing country. Like any other country there is a spread of wealth from the very wealthy, to the not so wealthy. In the Capitol city, however, it is no different than any other major American city. If anything, their infrastructure in regards to pedestrians is much more stable. The buildings are different than we are used to, however this is because Romania has been around for many years and doesn’t face the constant threat of hurricanes, tornadoes and earthquakes. This has allowed the buildings to remain in relatively good condition with limited rebuilds or major upgrades. As for my girlfriend, words cannot describe how amazing she is. This article really amused me (especially the comments) and it was interesting to find a little bit more on how other people see my country/culture. There would be a lot of things to say, of course, but one thing I must, is that Romania is still a mystery for foreigners; people have no clue on who we really are, the way we are, our legacy etc. All they ‘know’ is made up by pieces heard on TV or smoke in the air, and not given a short trip over here could make you understand the depths of our true nature – for that you must take a little more time. In my opinion takeing your time is worth while. I do belive that there is something good and ancestral in your veins, mystery given for us.

Hello everybody or should I say “Ce mai faceti”? I am a witness. I swear that am a witness to what this man is saying about the beauty of Romanian women.
Back in 2008 I had the opportunity to spend three months in a very lovely area of northern Romania called “Maramures”(Romania is devided into counties or judetul much like states the 50 states we have in the US)and I’ll tell you that the average beauty for the Romanian woman is to die for.
I am an american male of 43 years of age and my first trip to Romania was unforgettable in every sence of the word. Before I went to Romania I did about a year’s private language instruction in Romanian (I speak fluent french and Italian and due to the fact that Romanian is a language of latin origin it isn’t hard to learn at all!) with my teacher who comes from Baia Mare by the way the way she is without a doubt among one of the most beautiful of women I have ever laid eyes on.

There are not rules. I have two good friend whose wives are eight years older. Ben Franklin recommended it. Yet on the other hand I married someone 13 years younger. I think it works better if the girl is younger for maturity and life reasons. I think there are no rules in life, enjoy your life one day at a time as no one knows when our time is up here.
