Teaching in Poland
Because no teacher I know can teach more than 4 hours because its so exhausting, prep and commute time. Wages are not a good as they seem. I have taught 12 hour a day but generally the max you can do is 4 at most. And that is a lot. 4 hours of teaching is like 10 hours of working. In Boston I worked most days 12 hours. Its very different. The energy is different. I know few people who can do it more than a few years.
Lets say you teach 3 hours a day, 50pln. You take home about 3000 pln. This is a little better than the average in Poland. I rent a flat and after rent and utilities I have I have a 100o pln left. Food ( I shop at Biedronka) clothes and little things, doctor bills etc, is another 1000 pln, so that means zero left over for car and gas and insurance etc. Let alone savings or a flat. In Krakow you need 5000 a month net to live normal. 10000 to live well. But you have to work 10 years in a high powered job to get even close to that, and be very lucky. I wanted to make money I would move back to the US. But I hear the US is over in terms of getting rich via carreerism. So the last option is using your God given creativity to find another answer to blend your passion and vocation. Making your vocation to your advocation.
Therefore, teaching in Poland will give you a middle class life. But it will not make you rich. But its an ok lifestyle.
