Silesian language and the Polish language
The Silesian language is considered a dialect of the Polish language by some but by others it is a separate language. This language is spoken by about 60,000 people in the south western part of Poland. Polish people have trouble understanding Silesian speakers however, it is possible. That is not to say it is not a separate language, as Polish people can understand Czech and Slovak language speakers. There have been small Silesian independence movements in the history but nothing major at the current time as Poland respects the use of this language.
