The word dobry in Russian, Polish and Ukrainian languages
Dobry is the universal Slavic word meaning “good”. You could be in Ukraine, Poland, Russia or anywhere in Eastern Europe, and if you only knew this word, you could be OK in many situations.The Russian, Ukrainian or Polish word dobry can mean “good, fine, OK, sure, lets do it, sure, I see what you mean , I agree, yes, cool” and 100 other positive expressive meanings.
This one Slavic word, has a much broader use in Russian Ukrainian or the Polish language, than you would use ‘good’ in the English language. It is another catch all word, like the Russian language ‘na’. Slavic languages like Russian can use Dobry in many situations.
Conversational Russian
Russian and other Slavic languages are unusual in that their grammar is very complex and the vocabulary is very rich, however, on a day to day conversational basis you can learn a few hundred words in Russian and you will be much better off than a few hundred words in English.

Look maybe this is true for Polish and Ukranian, but in Russian we never use word ‘dobry’ in the meaning you mentioned, instead we use the word ‘khorosho’ (english way of spelling it) or ‘horoszo’ (polish way of spelling it). However we use the word ‘dobryj’ which means ‘kind’.
