Since 2004 when Poland joined the EU, there has been an influx of Polish people working in professional and other jobs in the UK. Many of these jobs have been in the field of day care. In the UK there are legions of Polish nanny’s watching over UK children especially kids from age 0 to age 7. The reason for this is Poles are trustworthy educated people. However, an interesting side effect of this is some British children are showing up for their first day of school with Polish accents. Yes if a child spends 12 hours a day with a Polish speaking person from age 0 to 7 what do you will happen? There are no lasting affects though, as the Polish accents usually go away once the kids are in school with other British children. For the children growing up with a Polish nanny is a positive experience as it gives children exposure to another language at an early age.
