Language of Russian Politics
The Russian government always uses very strong words when it comes to international politics. Strong, than perhaps any other country. It always talks tough. But in reality they are more rational and do not follow through with the full sound of their threats. It is just the way they talk. If you listened to them this summer is sounded like they were going to invade Poland for the missile shields. But this is just the language of Russian politics. You do not need to learn Russian to understand what they are saying. They are saying we want respect and power and will try to take as much as we can without direct conflict.
Another characteristic of Russian Politics is to blame. Blame the west, blame the anglo-american capatlistic business model for all of Russia’s troubles. Blame the Georgians for the invasion. Baiscally the Russian political language is talk tough. But in reality, I hope they do not want all out conflict as it not in anyone’s best interest.
