Less gym more learning
Learning languages ‘boosts brain’ from the BBC
Learning languages enhances the brain, scientists believe learning a second language “boosts” brain-power, scientists believe. Researchers from University College London studied the brains of 105 people – 80 of whom were bilingual.
They found learning other languages altered grey matter – the area of the brain which processes information – in the same way exercise builds muscles. People who learned a second language at a younger age were also more likely to have more advanced grey matter than those who learned later, the team said. Scientists already know the brain has the ability to change its structure as a result of stimulation – an effect known as plasticity – but this research demonstrates how learning languages develops it.
Language gym
This is on more reason to learn a language. Few people will remember Beethoven’s muscle bound neighbor. My point is, why spend a disproportionate amount of time in the gym or on body shaping activities when in reality it’s your mind and your soul people are respond to and respect. When you develop your mind there are almost no limits. If you spent 100 hours in the gym you get some margin increase in tone that most people will not see, however, if you spend 100 hour studying a language (you can do this while you are walking even), you will be on your way to being bilingual.

It is necessary to be physically fit as it reduces the chances of getting health problems. The recent researches have proved the fact that people who engage themselves in regular physical activities can stay away from many diseases such as cardiovascular problems, high blood pressure, diabetes, and even cancer.
If I had spent more time learning a language than in the gym
I have been trying to get in shape but my brain become more rusted every minutes of every day. I am starting to agree with these articles talking about brain exercise than in the gym. I believe that people who spend too much time in the gym would have lesser time to exercise their brain. My family was always after me to do brain exercise using numbers to get going. I recently have been laid back and never use my brain. So I would encourage people that if you want to go to the gym have your brain workout before you go because that would make you smarter and wiser when you are alert in driving and in school. I would not have anything to do with the gym before I do more brain exercises.
If I had spent more time learning a language than in the gym
I have noted that the longest lived people in the world are not athletic gym people but rather, people who use their brain. I studied economics for example, and I was shocked at the number of economists that lived in their their 90s, while many people who where fitness fanatics died from at a normal life span. I am not saying the gym is bad, but rather the brain is what will determine how well your body stays in shape and active.
I mix walking, yoga swimming with chess and computer brain games and learning languages. But the brain is the most important organ in your body.
