I am currently on vacation in Crimea, right now Feodosia. I thought I would flex and expand some of my linquistic skills and learn some Ukrainian and Russian, as a complement to Polish. I have to say nothing mentally has happened other than me sleeping on the beach and back in my flat. I have never experienced anything like this before. The air and climate is intoxicating and detoxicating at the same time. I think it has something to do with a specific microclimate that exists here. I sleep and hear Russian on the beach. I am not joking about this. It is the most sleep inducing air I have ever felt. Perhaps that is why Crimea is know as one of the top healing enviroments in the world. I read that your IQ actaully goes down on vacation. I feel like my brain is only functioning on a sleep wakes cycle of conciousness that has nothing to do with language learning.
