Brain oil
I have written about my brain lesion and how it took a long time to get back my cognitive function. One of my most recent discoveries was ‘False flax oil’. This is Camelina sativa. I discovered this by accident. After using a lot on my salad for a few weeks, I felt significantly better. I tested myself on cognitive performance tests, I also improve. I am a software, techy guy. I am not a doctor. But I had bleeding in my brain and I know when something helps brain function and does not. In my opinion there are few, if any drugs or herbs that will have a real long term affect on brain performance. Rather they tend to ‘jazz up your brain’ for a short time. Until science advances I think brain exercises are still the best supported with good nutrition. To increase my brain function I focused on cognitive exercises. Chess and language learning being my favorite. Vitamins are good for a general antioxidant effect and are important, however, for noticeable improvement DHA, phosphatylserine helped as well a Pomegranate. The reason False flax worked much better than omega 3 fish oils or even Flax seed oil is False Flax is very stable, where the former two mentioned are more unstable oils. Further, I think False Flax has other properties. Either way it seems to work. It not only has a short term ‘jazz it up’ affect on your brain but a long term affect as well.
Omega 3 brain oil
False flax has a very high concentration of Omega 3 over 45%. It also has 20% Omega 6 and 3% Erucic acid. Further the natural anti oxidants allow this to remain stable in contrast to flax seed oil which as stable life of about a week. But I think its not just not this. I think there must be some other elements that are good for your brain besides just brain oil.

If you need a resource for Camelina products, we have Camelina Seed Oil and Camelina seed at marxfoods. It’s popular for human health as well as canary feed (go figure).
Hi you mentioned hi omega well our patented non gmo is 60 – 70% ALA really it has been on the shelves of Sam’s Clubs now at 60% which is still better than 45% take a look might be what you are looking for.
Thanks for your above comments on ‘Brain oil’. The other a main thing I like about this ‘brain oil’ Camelina is the price. I can buy a bottle for about 5 dollars here in Poland, cold press. I do not know the price in the USA. Further I do not take it as a pill or supplement rather I use it liberally on my salad. I think besides DHA etc there might be something else as I feel much better than just taking DHA. Any further comments are welcome about DHA – Omega 3 etc as this is an interest to me, especially if people have personal experiences with this and the brain.
Hello
do you know if “brain oil” is available in the UK?
Jean I am sure camelina sativa false flax oil is in the UK. I live in Poland and I can get it in many shops, even Tesco might have it, but a health food shop would. I am frugal, so I always look for the low cost alternative. If you can not find it is the UK let me know. It really has great DHA.
